Has the Rotterdam gone through the changes that this implies? Do they have the new mattresses and duvets?

HAL has stated that all ships have new bedding and duvets in their Suites.:D
We did not find new bedding in the Veranda cabin we had on the Ryndam last month, but did have upgraded towels. I believe all the ships are at different stages of the SOE program.

I have asked the question of ship services and should have an answer tomorrow.

We did the Rotterdam last May in an S Suite. We did have the wonderful bedding and duvets you mentioned and have to say it was great.

Good idea, Jazzsea...if the information you receive includes the Statendam, I'd appreciate your posting it also.
Thanks very much.

:)
It is taking HAL a lot longer to complete the SOE program on all the ships than was anticipated. Originally it was to have been completed by the spring of 2005. Now HAL is looking at a date of late 2006.

When SOE was announced in December of 2003, we were told that the upgrades fleetwide would be completed in the spring of 2006. They are actually ahead of schedule.

At this point the Rotterdam has the "Signature Of Excellence" mattresses in
the suites only. The complete transition is scheduled for the drydock
period in March of 2005.
This is a quote from Joe Potts, Ship's Services; Holland America Line

So, Carol, I would assume from your last posting that all cabins will have the SOE bedding by the time I sail in November 2005? :) That is good news. Thanks. Do you know what other changes are scheduled for the drydock in March 2005?
thanks

Not so good for me as we sail Feb.4, 2005! Oh well, I guess the minisuite will have to be fine with the old bed!

Good news for me. We've booked b2b's on the Rotterdam for next June. Should have all the bugs worked out of what got missed in dry dock by then too.

I just got off the Rotterdam last week. We did not have new mattresses in our cabin which was an outside one on the main deck. We did have robes and a basket of fruit in the room when we first arrived. The cabin also had a lighted mirror at the desk.
I think the suites do have the mattresses like Jazzsea said.

I will ask Joe Potts today about the other ships. I sail on Rotterdam on October 20, 2004 and January 5, 2005. I guess it's the old mattresses.....
I ask for a foam mattress pad (they call it an egg crate) and it really helps.
I have been told that Veendam and Zaandam are completed.

Jazzsea, thanks so much. I'm interested in the Statendam, Hawaii 2005 cruises. Since you are talking with Joe Potts, would appreciate your asking...otherwise, all of us will be calling the man!!!

I agree, the foam mattress pad(egg crate) does really help. While on the Maasdam in June I asked for one(thanks to this board), and it did help. Although, what I was given was just foam, not the egg crate, but still very comfortable.
Glad to hear about the Veendam...is this is ALL the cabins? I am sailing her this month in an obstructed view, on the lower promenade.
