We recently returned from our first Holland America Cruise aboard the Maasdam. We loved the ship, the service, the cabin, the itinerary (Montreal to Boston)....well, we loved the whole vacation. I have a question about the Thallassotherapy Pool option. On the Holland America website, under "Fleet" and the in the "ss Maasdam" description, the Greenhouse spa is listed as having a thallassotherapy pool in addition to the hydrotherapy pool. This is also mentioned under at least one other same class ship. We found and enjoyed the hydrotherapy pool (like a gentle Jacuzzi) but where is the thallassotherapy pool? Perhaps I am misunderstanding, since I am familiar with thallassotherapy pools (salt water) with jets on Celebrity. Perhaps they just mean that the regular pools have salt water. On the other hand, there did not seem to be any pool in the Greenhouse spa. Thanks for your clarification. I just checked the HAL website again to be sure I had not remembered incorrectly. There is a notice that the website will go down at 11 pm Pacific time for maintainance.

I can't answer your question, but I just wanted to tell you how impressed I am that you know how to spell thallassotherapy! Excellent! :D

I haven't been on the Maasdam, but after looking at the website and planning our trip for next August, I believe the hydro therapy is the only poo option in the "thermal suite" The other (I'm not going to try to spell it since you did so well) is one of the treatments you can receive at the spa for a separate price.
On the Vista's, there is a separate large pool area for thermal Suite guests which is more what you are looking for.

I believe the hydro therapy is the only poo option ....
Hmmm....according to all the posts on toddlers in diapers in the pool and hot tub, it might not be the only option:D :D
Sorry, couldnt resist a little humor (very little, I know)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who got a chuckle out of that typo. ;)

Thanks dvdfreakmc. That makes sense to me. We really had a great cruise and enjoyed the Thermal Suite. We'll have to try a Vista class ship next. Thanks to the other posters for the smiles!
