Irons available on the Zuiderdam?

I've been assuming that irons were available in the laundry area, always have been on our past cruises. Reading the info that came with my docs today, it states that irons are avail on all but 3 ships, the Zuiderdam being one. Is this true?

Sorry, but the Vista class ships- Zuiderdam, Oosterdam, and Westerdam- do not have laundry areas at all. :eek:

No washers, dryers, or irons. Laundry, dry cleaning, and pressing can be sent to the ship's laundry and they do run specials.

The Vista Series of Ships...Zuiderdam, Oosterdam and Westerdam (Noordam will be the fourth and last of the series) do not have laundry rooms for pax use.

Irons are not permitted in cabins and the best thing to plan on is to send out the few things you may want pressed (the prices are not that high) or you may wish to bring a steamer. I think the travel steamers work great.

I'm sure you know the "hang it in the steamy bathroom" routine and that does work for many garments.

That's dissappointing. I'm going to have to pack the travel steamer. I'm also going to use a tip I picked up here on the boards...packing all my stuff in dry cleaner bags.

There is a great product available from Go TRAVEL, it is a spray wrinkle crease remover, I bought mine on the ship and it really worked!

No irons at all. If they see one in your room, they are required to remove it. They do offer laundry service or just pressing at reasonable prices

Cruisemate, Downey makes a spray wrinkle remover you can get at your grocery or discount store. Does a great job.

Regarding the upcoming vista Noordam, I thought I heard that HAL was reconsidering the passenger laundry facility issue for this ship. Am I dreaming?
