We sailed on the Veendam on the Millennium cruise with many families and it was our family's favorite cruise (of 15!) We haven't sailed on Holland since then - opted for the larger Royal Caribbean Navigator, Golden Princess, Celebrity Infinity - due to kiddoes desires. Now we are going to sail again on Holland over the New Year holiday and hope it will be a memorable as the 1999 cruise. Holland did many special things - fireworks at midnight, special chocolate desserts on the 31st - and it was just a more sophisticated, warm feeling cruise than many others we have been on. Does anyone have experience with the other Vista Class ships and what they do for the holidays. Also, do all the Holland ships have a special "coffee bar" where young adults and OLD adults can get together for a late night cap? Thank you so much for your help! I will be traveling with eight 19 and 20 year olds! I need all the help I can get!

Haven't done a New Year's cruise, but there is a coffee bar! The specialty coffees there do cost extra though. I believe the price is around $1.65 for a regular sized beverage. You can also meet up in any of the other bars or lounges and order virgin drinks for a reduced price. I cruised with my 18 year old daughter and her friend this summer and they really enjoyed all the lounges with music, dancing etc.
