We'll be in the turquoise cabana on 11/7. I understand there will be cabana boys (butlers?) to serve us cocktails and lunch.

Is this a prepaid service?
Do they share in the prepaid tips?
If not, should they expect a 15% cash tip? That'd be about $40 if based on the price of the cabana rental!

I'm not sure about the 15% thing but I gave my cabana boy an additional cash tip the day I had my cabana and he told me that he shared it with another who was working in the same area. I guess that was his choice to make maybe?

:)

Any alcoholic cocktails that your order will have the automatic 15% gratuity charge on them.

Most people do tip the boy(s) who help bring you the cocktails and lunch and anything else you want done.

Just back from HMC, there is a difference between a Cabana Boy and a Butler. The cabana boys stop by and take your orders, you pay for the drinks and the 15% is already there. The Butler is yours (and only yours) for the day and everything is included. We tipped him at the end of the day!

What more could there be that I would need a butler hanging around all day, and how much extra will it cost me?

If you do the Butler service they come to the cabin and pick you up; you get priority tendering, they drive you to your cabana, set everything up. The cabana includes your snorkel gear, floats etc.

A few days prior to the cabana the Food and Beverage Manager will meet with you and give you a menu, for our lunch we had...lobster rolls, soup served in pineapples, filet mignon with fresh veggies and for dessert a carved out watermelon filled with all sorts of fruit. Also includes anything that you want to drink, (beer pina coladas, sodas, water etc) also they have the butler bring champagne out to you while you are in the water and take pictures.

All in all it is just a spectacular way to spend a day. I believe our price for all was 449.00 and includes everything for up to 4 people.

Welcome home! Did you post a review of any kind and I missed it?

For the record, Candy, any of us who rent a cabana get priority tendering (not just the Butler guys:D ) But no lobster rolls, that's for sure!;)
