I've noticed that in the dessert section of the menus that some posters have been nice enough to post there is occasionally a cheese plate. If we would like to have a cheese plate in our room in the late afternoon, could I order it as soon as the dining room staff opens for the early seating or would I just have to ask for 'one to go' and save it for the next day in the mini frig? Also, could I only ask for it on the day it was shown on the menu or on any day? Thanks for your help! Dolores

As of last month, cheese plates were available 24/7 from room service...and they're better than those served as dessert. [IMHO, of course.]

Thank you, Iknick! Would you know which thread might have the updated menus? I didn't know room service had cheese plates - yippee! Oh, do they include bread or crackers or do you ask for those separately? Thank you, again. Dolores

My recall was that there were crackers and rounds on the plate and 3 varieties of cheese. There was also some fruit on the plate, like green grapes.

My youngest daughter and her husband on our family cruise last summer became enamoured with the cheese plates and had a steady stream delivered to her cabin. She discovered that there were more than three varieties of cheese on board and that she could specify which cheeses she desired.

One other thought. If you're a cheese nut and you go to Phillipsburg, there is a shop on the pier that sells 10 lbs wheels of Gouda for aproximately US$20. It can be frozen on returning home. However, the texture suffers.

Well, I guess we'll just invite a bunch of neighbors over to 'cheese munch' along with me and DH lol!!!
