I am supposed to be receiving promo 7031, and read somewhere on these boards that these credits are given as vouchers included in documents. I received my docs yesterday and no voucher...do I need to call my TA?

Thanks!

Someone posted information a day or so ago about the 7031 shipboard credit promo. I had not known about it until I saw it here. I called the HAL cruise consultant for my 11/26/04 cruise and asked if that promo could be applied to my booking. He said "yes" and we received a $50.00 per person onboard credit. He indicated that it would simply show up as a credit on my shipboard account. I hope that's correct. We shall see.
I have forgotten who posted the information about 7031 on here, but to whomever did it, a BIG THANKS! DFD1

:)

GDET IT IN WRITING!

We have gotten tons of ship board credit by various means for many years and have always had a voucher in our documents.

For someone to say that it will appear on your account once you get on the ship is a too trusting person. Once you get on the ship, it is your word against the front office. Have your TA get it in writing from HAL. HAL can fax your TA the information.

I even make a xerox copy of our vouchers just in case the one I turn in is lost.

Thanks to you divinggirl I also benefited from promo 7032 (mariner). I called HAL last night and found out that I was eligible. I than e-mailed CVC, armed with you info. They called HAL, and $50pp was applied to each of my b2b cruises on the Ziderdam. We are sailing on the 10/30/ & 11/6/04 Eastern Caribbean Cruise. The credit will be applied to your shipboard account, that you will receive at the end of your cruise. HAL informed me that there are no restrictions on the credit. So don't worry, and have a great cruise. Thanks, Nonniroc:) :) :)I am supposed to be receiving promo 7031, and read somewhere on these boards that these credits are given as vouchers included in documents. Get it in writing. Have it them send you a corrected copy of your confirmation indicating you are due the shipboard credit. When you get your documents, verify a coupon has been included. Without that coupon, you will be unable aboard the ship to do anything to get it.

No coupon; if it doesn't appear on your statement and you have no proof ; you will get no credit! ! As advised above, make a copy of it. Sometimes even with the coupon, we have gotten our "preliminary statement" and the credit was not on it. When we went to the office, it seems the coupon was lost. We had a copy. We got the credit.
(KK and I know of what we speak) :)

Thanks for the info, KK and S7S...I think I'll drop them (CVC) a line tomorrow to ask, although nonniroc, I am so very glad I was able to help you! You obviously got more information than me from CVC, and though I've also been told from a HAL manager directly that I have the credit, I am not totally trusting of CVC. It's worth 5 minutes of my life now than who knows how long arguing later! :o

If this voucher was in my docs, would it be a separate piece of paper or included in the travel documents packet?

It is in the booklet and NOT a seperate piece of paper.

When you get the documentation saying you have it, take a copy to the front desk when you board.

Hal reservations had a credit for me in their records but it did not make it to the ship. I had no coupon in my document book either. I had a faxed copy and it was handled. They said they had to check it with the home office and it might take a day or two. That same night we had a call that it was handled.

Always have it in writing. When I boarded the Oo this past January and told them I had rented the pink cabana in advance, they had no idea what I was talking about and there was nothing in their computers. In fact, they didn't even know at that time you could rent them in advance. I produced the fax my TA has sent me from HAL office, and everything was cleared up immediately. I'm not sure what would have happened if I had not had written documentation.

We have received shipboard credit for our upcoming Canada/New England cruise. A page in my ticket packet shows this credit. I will take it to the front desk to credit it to my account, and I will have a xerox copy of it just in case at the end of the trip it doesn't show up. I am usually a very trusting person, but why not go ahead and back up what you know to be true??? :D

I've been reading in several places about Promo 7032, but haven't been able to find out any more.

How and where can I enquire about Promos? We've been on 5 cruises, and have booked a BtoB on the Westerdam in February 2005.

Our TA knows nothing about Promos; are they not valid for Canadians?

Thanks for the good advice about getting the $50.00pp credit in writing. I will call HAL and be sure that it is documented. No surprise that things get lost between the home office and the ship. The amount of detail involved in getting all of the arrangements completed for more than a thousand passengers must be staggering. I would surely not want to be responsible for getting it all right. It is possible they are only for U.S. pax....I don't know. If it does not apply for Canadian pax, do not be offended. There are alot of HAL promos that apply only to pax from certain states. Sometimes a person in Massachusetts can get a shipboard credit or special discount that someone in Colorado cannot, for example.

Have your TA called HAL to inquire. He/she should be asking if you can use that promo code and the only way he/she can find out is to ask HAL.

Good luck. I hope it applies for you, as well.

I am a Canadian and I had our TA enquire about the promo #267 and her reply stated that it only applied to deluxe cabins in cat. A. B. & C. Outside cabins could get a 2 cat. upgrade. We have an inside cabin on the main deck and the promo does not apply to us. Not sure I really understand why we shouldn't be eligible for some kind of a credit, we have got a pretty good deal, but I feel certain that those in the above categories got one too. Anyway we are very much looking to the cruise.

Tell yourTAto inquire about promo code 7031 or 7032 (past passengers) we have an inside cabin and we were able to get 25 dollars per person credit for that catagory. You should be able to get it

...are errek19 and i the only pax who are not receiving promos this year...

after having been told by our TA that i was not qualified for anything ...we are sailing november 3, my sister called HAL and was told that our TA had to call and give them our cabin number...again i asked our TA to call HAL and again, we are told that :

"Called HAL – Promo 7031 & 7032 are for sailings prior to October of this year
Promo 267 is restricted to new bookings only
Sorry, none are applicable to your booking"

so, i am wondering which promos are others receiving who are sailing in november...and what exactly does "new bookings only" mean?...does that mean, i should wait to the last minute to book?...i just want to have a level playing field here, and i will never book this early again.

I got my docs for my Zuiderdam 9/18 & 9/25 B2B. There were no vouchers in the docs. I called and got them to send me a revised confirmation statement with the credits detailed for both voyages.

In June we booked a September 4th Alaska cruise with CVC on the Zaandam. After seeing the posts about these shipboard credits, I asked CVC twice to check into it. They said they did and it was for "new bookings only". Of course, many folks on this forum have received the credits after booking, so I wrote to HAL directly for an explaination. They replied that we could not get the credit because "The fantastic rate your Travel Agent has secured for you is not combinable with a ship board credit."

Seems like they just come up with diffrent explaination until they find one they hope you'll accept. By the way, we did get a fairly good rate compared to most we found, but we have seen it elsewhere slightly lower since booking.

Anyone have any suggestions where to go from here, or just forget it?

Natuarally, we are very disappointed with the inconsistent awarding of these credits. It's poor public relations on HAL's part.

Regardless, we are still looking forward to our first cruise and first trip to Alaska.

I been thinking about cancelling my Nov. 26, 2005 cruise on the Veendam and rebooking to an earlier one sometime maybe Feb or Mar 2005, then maybe I could get the credit. We have never cruised for 14 days before, always seven and I'm beginning to think it might be too long for us. Would like to do a Panama Canal 10 day cruise.
For sure Nov. 2005 seems a long ways off. Guess maybe I'm just getting anxious to be on a cruise.

Yes!!!

Our TA just called back to say HAL will fax confirmation. We'll receive $50 p.p. on each of our February B2Bs. That's $200 US - $263 CAD; no mean feat. So glad I tried!

...yes, RTC, that is what i am waiting to find out...what does "new bookings only" mean...well, it does not mean us...

i just checked *********** and finally saw the wording on promo 267, and sure enough my sailing is one of the few that are not listed...so, at least i have seen it in writing...so, my TA was right all the time...i didn`t have anything to lose...i guess i will keep posting till i get it out of my system...going now to look for the other promos in writing...makes me feel like i am on to something.

Well I finally heard back from my TA who had been on vacation and she called HAL and got us the 7032 promo cabin credit. We rec`d $50pp for our first sailing on our BtoBs (7day) and $100pp for our second leg(10days). Usually when a promo comes up, HAL has some kind of reason why we can`t get it, so I am very excited about this. This $300 along with what all of our kids put on our account for us will probably take care of a lot of our bill.....jean
