Does HAL ever have any kind of band play by the pool? I was on an RCCL cruise a few years back and they had a great reggae band play a few happy hours by the pool. Carribean Breeze was their name and they were really good and made happy hour by the pool a must-do that went by too quickly. What would a ship like the Oosterdam have? Nothing - keep it quiet please, some kind of music played over speakers, or a band - accoustic, acapella, calypso, jazz, anything? Just curious what to expect. Thanks!

On the Zuidy in June there was a calypso band on the lido deck that played at various times throughout the afternoon. Lots of steel drums...very tropical sounding!:)

Glad to hear there will be some form of live music by the pool. Since we are heading to the Western Caribbean calypso will be great. Reggae would be even better.

Just check the daily program for when there will be music played by the indoor pool.

I cannot think of a HAL ship that did not have lunch time music...1130-1330 if recall is correct. Nothing in the afternoon or evening except where there are deck parties like the BBQ.

There is also poolside music at the sail away parties at the aft pool. The music is themed to the port.

I heard that Pearl Jam was going to be the pool side entertainment for the 10/31 cruise.
