I was wondering what people know about the past passenger discount and where/when it applies... does it apply to cruises already discounted in advertised deals and does it apply to everyone travelling in a specific party if u pay together or only the person who has cruised before..

We didn't get a past passenger discount on our up coming cruise & when I enquired about it I was just told that it isn't available for all cruises.

We got quite a tidy past passenger discount on W739 - Pacific Dawn Christmas Cruise this year.
This was booked way back last year and there must have been deadline limits as my mate [who was also a past passenger] dipped out and had to pay the normal "early booking" discounted fee.
From memory there was a difference of about $600 per person on a balcony cabin when compared to the best price offered normally.
More money to spend in the bar. :D :)
I notice that balcony cabins on this particular cruise are now "waitlisted"
They won't be getting mine, and thats for sure. :p

We took advantage of the past passenger discount for our 2nd cruise and saved 30%
For the two after that though the past passenger discount either wasn't available or just wasn't as much as the normal 'early bird' fare. It's good if you can get it though.
If you've signed up for 'junk mail' P&O will send you brochures, newsletters and PP discounts every now and then :D

A past passenger brochure (called Sailaway P&O) came out about 2 weeks ago. There is savings from 35% to 50% off Pacific Dawn (from Sydney) and Pacific Sun (from Brisbane) cruises.
As MsMinx said, go onto the P&O site and go into "past passengers" at the top and fill in your details.

Does anyone know how far back the "past passengers" listing goes? Seeing as P&O took over Sitmar many years ago, DH wants to know would a circa-1976 cruise on the old Sitmar liner Fairstar out of Sydney qualify him? When I asked him for exact dates and ports visited, he couldn't remember much due to being in a alcohol-induced stupor for most of the trip!

LOL - DH just came by again and he remembers his 1976 cruise called at Auckland and "some small islands out there in the the ocean"! He also thinks that rather than the Fairstar, it was probably the even older Fairsky operated by Sitmar (the one that subsequently nearly sunk when the hull was holed off Jakarta). But he claims he was a "single man" in those days and sincerely apologises to anyone on these boards he may have upset during that cruise all those years ago.

Haha he was probably on there partying with Col, (The Fox) If they are including all P&O and Sitmar cruises for the Princess Captains Circle, I think they would be including all old Sitmar cruises for past passenger discounts, just give P&O a ring and hopefully you might get someone who knows something :) I have always included all my old Fairstar cruises for past passenger stuff.
