"I've Been Workin' on the Railroad" would be a good one: second choice "Good King Wenceslaus".

What about "tiny bubbles" or "By the sea, by the beautiful sea."
Or the all-time best: "La Mer" [The sea].

"At the edge of the Water"..........the song HAL used last year in their advertising campaign. I think it a beautiful song.

I agree with Sail7, I love "at the edge of the Ocean" by IVY. I wonder what happened to that commercial.

Grannynurse....Thanks for correcting me. You are, of course, correct. The title is "Ocean" not Water.

Oh Yes, Jean.
I LOVE that song and refuse to ever leave an HAL ship without hearing it. We never go to the disembarkation talk but the TV always plays it over and over and I listen to it while I do our packing.
Love in Any Language.....fluently spoken here.

Jean I agree, always get chocked up between the song and ending the cruise:(
Another favorite cruise song is "Come Sail Away" by Styx. I love to walk and jog on the treadmill to it. I know the words start out on a sailing ship and end on a space ship but I still think "Cruise Ship" One of the neatest things was when we were on on Alaska cruise I was up in the gym early in the morning. It was so beautiful walking on the treadmill sailing thru the Inside Passage and listening to "Come Sail Away" It actually brought tears to my eyes because of realizing how fortuate I was to be Sailing thru the wonderful area on a beautiful cruise ship.

Lisa,
I never thought of "Come Sail Away" as a cruise song, but that is an excellent tune.
Whenever I hear Kokomo by the Beach Boys I picture myself on a Caribbean island someone, so that makes me think of a cruise.

I realize that most cruise ships don't have sails but the song"sailing" by Christopher Cross always makes me think of being at sea. There is also something about the song "The Last Farewell" by Roger Whitaker that makes one harken to the briney deep.

Kokomo by the Beach Boys ... reminds me of our first cruise with our then 7 year old son. He's now 22 and living in Japan ... my eyes mist up just thinking of the wonderful memories we all have of our cruises together.
Smooth Sailing! :) :) :)

Kokomo is definately great for carribean cruises.
Funny an above poster mentioned Titanic
One time during the talent show on a cruise, this girl gets up and sings "My Heart Will Go On" from Titanic (which she did beautifully) But there was this sudden wave of giggles from the audience.
When she finished of course the audience gave her a big round of applause because she was very good. But the Emcee of the show walked over to her and said "You got a lot of guts singing a song from a movie about a ship sinking while on a cruise ship". *LOL*

Our favorite is "Southern Cross", CSN. If your cruise goes far enough south you can actually see it. Can't wait for the next one!!

Our favorite cruise music is 'Over the Waves' played on our 20-note 78-pipe Raffin hand cranked monkey organ. Take a moment to look at some of the photos on our TextAmerica photo blog.

lktOMG! Those are my favorites too! What are the odds? :D
Now I also really like "Mairzy Doats" and "Eleanor Rigsby" ...but that railroad song... I don't know.. there's just something about it when cruising.

"Don't Worry, Be Happy" (Bobby McFerrin)
The Love Boat Theme (sorry, but it reminds me of our first cruise on Princess in 1989.)
