Toad - I know exactly how you feel!! We don't have a cruise booked for 2008 and that'll be the first time in 5 straight years for us. Looks like there won't be one as I'm retiring right after the first of the year and will be going back to school a couple of weeks later. I'll be in catch up mode for a year and then we'll see about a cruise in 2009. After the Veendam cruise in March it was time for a change anyhow and lots happened after the cruise that made the 2008 decision easier. Now....I'm missing not planning and looking forward to our annual cruise!!! :(

Well, I tried to iron little sticky tags on the inside of my laundry, but it just wasn't the same.................You know what I mean?
Toad, I do sympathize, and offer you my condolences:( . May I commiserate with you? My husband and I are saving our pennies (make that dollars, lots of 'em) for a big HAL cruise in 2009. But between now and then, I have nothing booked at all.........:( My bed time reading material is all those wonderful, glorious HAL brochures.............

The best/only sure remedy for Cruise withdrawal is booking another cruise.
If you're saving your dollars for a BIG cruise in 09, may I suggest looking at the 08 offerings and choosing one of the cheapest mass-market cruises you can find, in an inside cabin? There are some 7-day offerings that are going for only about $600 per person in an inside cabin.

You really need to get some 2008 brochures and book a cruise. Forget the cruise planner - too many errors in there.

I agree. There is no way you will make it to 2009, and you know that too :).
Find a cheapie for a "fix", lol.

Twice we've taken a 4-day coastal cruise as a fix between our other sailings. They're very nice, especially when we lived within an hour's flight of the coast.

I do agree with most of you, and think I will need a fix sooner. I have been looking at the Noordam out of NY, which we have done in the past, but I am not a big fan of the BIGGER ships but...... Also we live on Cape Cod, so we would not need airfare. You never know.

If you're planning or even thinking about doing the Noordam, book it soon since she won't be sailing out of NYC too much longer. :(

oh I know what you mean! We have not gone this year either, our last cruise was Nov 06 and hubby (Cigar man) learned he had lymphoma in Feb 07 so we have been dealing with that and me starting a new job 3 days ago! Hopefully by the end of 08 we will be able to set up something, withdrawals for sure!

I know, I'm an addict too.
I didn't cruise until 2002... thought cruises would be boring (HAH). I've been lucky (not exactly the right word) in that I've had elderly friends and relatives expire and leave me some funds, so have been using it well AND cruising. But now I'm back on my own funds and I'm afraid it'll have to be one per year.. or a back-to-back like in 3 weeks! :p
I can see why people decide to live out their years on a cruise ship instead of a mid-care facility.

Toad: I can truly sympathize with cruise WD. My last cruise was in 2004 and I just couldn't see my way clear to booking another one until this year. Try to find some shorter cruises that would provide that fix that Revneal was talking about. I know for certain that I will be meeting the future cruise consultant this cruise and booking at least one open cruise for myself. With luck and prudent spending the rest of the year I hope to never have nothing booked again.
Diane: I won't be joining you for both parts of the b2b, but I sure look forward to meeting you on the 22nd. Pretty close now.
