For our March 26 Zuiderdam cruise we booked outside verandah rooms. That day I received a promo in the mail from my TA (promo 267) for a shipboard credit for SS rooms. I figured that after taking the promo into account it would only cost us about $85 extra pp to upgrade to an SS suite. So I got myself all set for the larger room.

Well, the price of my room came down since then (which is a good thing of course), and it turns out that the promo didn't give as big a credit as I thought. So the actual cost to upgrade now is more like $200 pp. We'll just be staying where we are for now.

A little of a disappointment after getting set on the SS, but anywhere on the ship is a good location to be.:)

:)

I know I mentioed this before in your other thread about your daughters being down the hall from your SS cabins and not going to be assigned to the same life boat.

Are you in the same area as they are now?

Maybe for your third cruise on HAL you can get that SS cabin.

:)Actually, I didn't even think of the lifeboat drill, someone else pointed it out to me. The girls are in 6021, which is an inside K cabin, fairly far forward. We're in 6047, which is an AA cabin just before the ship pinches in. However, my brother is in 6003, so they may be on the same one as him.

Third cruise sounds good. We have an outside for our October cruise and a balcony for the next one. So an SS would be the next logical step, perhaps followed by an S.:D Unless we win the lotto, or get a nice upgrade, doubt I'll ever make it to PS.

I studied the layout of the lifeboats. It does appear that the girls should be assigned to the same lifeboat as your brother.

:)Thanks for checking KK. That works out good, but they still may move based on availbability. The K room that they're in is very small. Right now cat I is showing guar only. However, if an I comes available on our deck, then I'll move them.:)

Of course if the SS rooms come down in price, I may also be moving.:D

You'll have a great time no matter what cabin you are in.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you that the "SS" price comes down. It well could happen. Keep checking.

You can never be sure about lifeboat assignments. On one Noordam cruise our assigned lifeboat station was on the opposite side of the ship from our cabin and halfway back between the main staircase and the rear of the ship. We were in a cabin forward of the main staircase and three decks down.
