Just wanted to know if my stateroom will have a safe. I will be on Disney Wonder in a veranda cabin.

Yes you will have a safe that is locked with your KTTW card. It is about the size of a shoebox and located in the closet.

Thank you. I like having a safe so I don't have to carry around my money and ID on ship. Every line I have been on had safes except RCCL and I understand now they do have safes on their newer ships. I figured Disney did since her ships are still fairly new but I wanted to be prepared.

You're welcome. Just be aware that whatever card locks the safe is the only one that can open it. So when the kids want to lock it have them use your card.....

Yes the Carnival safes work that way so I have experience with it. Not a problem- either I can open the safe or hubby.

Also you can use a credit card or any card with a magnetic strip and hide it in the room so the whole family can use the safe without having to chase down a kttw card.

I guess that would be okay if yoiu can trust your steward. I would NEVER leave a credit card lying around. That would be too tempting for most HONEST people. It is not a big deal to use either mine or hubby's card. We are togther most of the time and if one of us goes on an excursion by ourselves we usually set a time to meet again.
Normally we eat breakfast together, return to the cabin and get out money or whatever we need for the day. We also meet back together to dress for dinner so it is no problem if I have a piece of jewelry in the safe I want to wear for dinner. That's the only times we go into the safe anyway.
Usually too I don't bring my nice jewelry. Since I wear it everyday it is not the glitzy type stuff you want for formal night-I can't afford that type stuff that is real and no more then I wear that kind of stuff I wouldn't buy that type of jewlry even if I could afford it. About the most expensive thing I have in my safe is my wedding set which I may leave in the safe if we are going to the beach or something.

If your library card has a magnetic strip you can use that to lock the safe, and it's not likely something you'd worry about leaving laying around in your cabin.

My library card is on my key chain and little but I have a Kroger card besides the keychain one. the problem to me still goes back to leaving that "hidden" in your room. I would not want to tempt a normally honest steward. I read once on the Carnival board where someone had came back to their room after an excursion that was all day and found their safe emptied. I wonder if their safes work the same way, that any magnetic card can be used.
As I have already said though-hubby and I never found it to be a problem. He only wants cash etc. when he leaves ship and he gets that after breakfast. The only other time we get into the safe is before dinner if I take out a piece of jewelry. He normally lets me use my card as I get in it more often then he does.
On the last cruise he forgot his diving card but he knew where to find me as I was not leaving ship-I was on the lido-he simply found me-got my card-went to the room and safe-and then brought my card back to me-so it was no big deal. We always though let each other know what we will be doing if we are not togther-but most of the time we are together anyway-except he will do an excursion-like diving-without me. Anyway it is not a problem about getting into the safe for us.
