Our 2nd Windstar cruise, first on Wind Surf. Got the last cabin, or so we were told. Must mean that there are a lot of fellow travelers out there. Hearing that sale, so far, has not had any bad effect. Any other word?

there are 4 of us also on the 1/13 cruise. maybe this close to the date others will post. there were only about 5 cabins left when we booked in september and our friends were waitlisted for several weeks. we are windstar repeaters but our friends are new to the line. we only hope it is great for their sake.

interestingly enough, though somewhere it is written that new people traveling on an alum cruise with alums will also get the alum price, our friends were socked with a huge fare "because they had been waitlisted." that was poor business to change the rules mid stream. can anyone comment on this?

Hello

4 of us as well, previous Windstar passengers, but a first on WindSurf. We mostly look for deserted beaches, so this looks like a great itinerary.

Cannot wait.....

My husband and I went on our first WindStar cruise last January - St. Thomas RT on the Wind Spirit. We are very much looking forward to relaxing and being pampered on the Barbados SB cruise. It's our first Wind Surf cruise as well. It will be interesting to see the difference being on a larger ship.

...as our cruise is now over. I may post it as a new thread for anyone thinking about cruising Windstar for the first time. This was our second. But let me say to everyone that karen and i met that it was a greater honor for us (Peter & Caroline; AC/Dave & Kelly; Milo/Peter & Christina and especially, Lois - you know who you are). Thank you for a wonderful time.

And thank you to the staff for making the trip absolutely fantastic. Geno, you make one of the best martinis anywhere.

Maybe it's just me. If you read some of the other threads, there are a lot of complainers out there. I guess it's all in what you're expecting.
The food - excellent. Maybe not 5-star, but that's not why i'm on the cruise. The staff couldn't have been nicer or more eager to please. What kind of reasonable requests might some guests have made that were not immediately fulfilled? I can't imagine.

The internet not working or too slow - are you crazy? Who cares? Were you the guy sitting on the aft pool deck talking on your cell phone every day?

The cruise director not memorable? What does that mean? Cristina was just fine. Answered all of our questions and got us where we were supposed to be on time. I don't need a camp counselor. From another post complaining about Candisse: "A cruise host/hostess needs to have the personality and enthusiasm of a "Julie"(from Love Boat)." Really? Have you tried Carnival?

Was everything perfect? Maybe not. But nobody said that you're entitled to perfect in life. I got away from work for a week, met some wonderful people and had a great time. I'll be back on Windstar as soon as I can.
