My docs for the 17 day cruise Amsterdam thru the Panama Canal says 4 formal nights 13 smart casual. Are the at sea nights formal except for the first and last? We want to book a Pinnacle Grill night but do not want to miss the special nights in the diningroom, like prime rib night etc. Need advise as to how to pick the best night to book when we board the first day.

Usually the first full day out is a formal night and the next to the last night of the cruise is a formal night. The other two and somewhere in between. When you get to your cabin your first daily program will tell you which nights are formal and which are not.

You can contact ship services and explain that you have been informed that there will be 4 casual nights and that the rest will be smart casual and ask them to give you the specific nightd that will be formal.

I just did that for our 23 day cruise.

So far on all the longer cruises that we have been on, the daily program has given only 1/2 of the dress schedule for the entire cruise -- talking about 21 and 22 day cruises.

Really KK?? It must have changed. I am used to a list on the daily program. I remember that we always save that one and put it where we can always check ahead for the upcoming dress codes. Maybe it changed when they did away with the informal. You know we take all lengths of cruises, I guess I never paid attention on the longer ones.
