When booking a future cruise while ON board for myself and another couple that are NOT on board, what information is necessary for the other couple?? ie: name, address, telephone # etc. etc. Thanks...

Are you sure that can be done? It seems to me like it shouldn't be allowed! Or at the very least the other couple shouldn't get the OBC's.

Yes....... While you are aboard, you can book for friends and family who may be traveling with you.
I have the letter in front of me that was distributed by Susan Musgrave, OnBoard Cruise Consultant on Maasdam in August. It states we can do that.

IMO,
You should have their name (the name they will want on their documents), address, Mariner's Number if they have one and the name and address of any TA they may wish to use.

I have the same letter - the only rule is that they have to be traveling on the same ship at the same time as you.

I just remembered that these OnBoard Future Bookings are tied to our Mariners' numbers so you should be sure to get theirs. There probably is a way to handle it if they do not have a Mariners number but it certainly is easier if you get it from them.

Thanks everyone -- It seems to get a little confusing on this subject. On previous posting that I have seen , it has been said that future bookings for people NOT on the cruise but will be on the SAME cruise that is going to be the future booking cruise IS permissible. The question remains what information is required for the folks NOT on the cruise when the booking is made for the future cruise. I talked withmy TA that I have been doing business with for the past 18 years and she said, "that's a good question" and I will check it out. When I find out I will let you know.
Thanks again............

Did you not see post #4 in this thread?

 What is confusing? Now you have me confused. :)
It seems agreement here that you may make a future cruise booking for friends and family who wish to sail a future cruise with you but who are not on the current cruise that you are on.
There doesn't seem to be any disagreement about that.
I have the letter in my hands that says you may make such a booking while you are aboard but your friends/family are not. They must be sailing the same future cruise that you will be sailing.

Your right SAIL7SEAS! Just spoke directly with Holland America and you CAN book a future cruise for friends or family as long as they are going to be on the same future cruise..All that is necessary is their correct name, address and telephone number and the deposit must be made at the time of booking.
No more confusion !!!

Also - if you wish to sit at the same table and are using different TA's, once you get home you will need the other couple's booking number so that you can get the bookings linked to request the same table.

Take my suggestion if you wish......
IF they have a Mariner's Number, get it from them and give it to the Future Cruise Consultant. It can make tracking that future cruise booking a lot easier at a later time.
If they do not have a Mariner number, don't worry about it.

When you book these future cruises on board do you really save any money? I have always seen that usually the HAL prices for the cruises are priced higher. Whats the advantage?

When you book these future cruises on board do you really save any money? I have always seen that usually the HAL prices for the cruises are priced higher. Whats the advantage? Two advantages for everyone are the OBCs you get and not having to tie up any more deposit than $100 pp for many months.
Furthermore, if you have a TA which normally lists lower prices than HAL's brochure price (as mine does) you get to book at the TA's price, not HAL's! On our Sep cruise we booked our Apr one. We paid $225 pp less than the price that you will find at HAL on-line, and got $50 pp OBC in addition.

So are you booking thru HAL at you TA's price, and the booking stays at HAL, or do you transfer to your TA when you get back?

So are you booking thru HAL at you TA's price, and the booking stays at HAL, or do you transfer to your TA when you get back?If you use the same TA as the cruise you are on (as we did) the "transfer" is basically immediate. Right after I got the booking number I emailed it to my TA, and by the next day he had applied all of my usual preferences of dinner seating time, table size, bed arrangement, etc, none of which I bothered specifying to the on-board Future Cruise Consultant.

jtl513 is correct...I already got a price for the cruise that will be booked from my TA so when I book the future cruise onboard to take advantage of the $100 PP deposit and OBC's for myself and two other couples, my final price will be what was quoted and not what the booking price was. All three bookings will go through the same TA..

Whenever we have booked future cruises while on the ship, the cruise consultant sends all the information to Seattle. The cruise consultants have always checked to make certain that we are using the same TA so there won't be any mix-ups.
By the time we get home, our TA already has the information and has started her next folder on us.
Being able to put down only $100 per person per cruise means the we keep a lot more money in the savings account and we collect the interest - not HAL.
And we get all that extra shipboard credit.
