Does anyone know how children are charged for tips when sharing the same stateroom with adults?

There was a big discussion on a thread here about 3 weeks concerning this very same thing. The poster was thinking about taking off the $10 per person per day for their child (children).

But a lot of posters pointed out how much extra work the cabin steward has to do to make up an extra bed, change more towels, etc., And how some of the dining room stewards went out of their way to keep the children happy.

I've never tipped a child (on board) in my life! [The occasional cow, well, maybe...] Those pictures are all fakes!!

Looks like NCL will be no tipping required in 2005 since they have turned the $10 per day into a mandatory service charge.

Just a comment about NCL:
They charge $10 a day per person as the service charge, yes so no "formal" tipping required.
For Kids, the service charge is $5 a day.

All are automatically charged to your account which we LOVED! Our last night was free.
We did tip the kids club counselors though because they are not part of the tip pool...only the cabin staff and resturant staff are.

We had 5 teenagers in cabins on Alaska Trip -- 3 in one and 2 in another plus parents in their own cabins 2 each -- we were in a suite on top deck and paying the bills. Anyhow, the cabin stewards definitely deserved EXTRA tips for both of the teenage rooms -- boys slept till noon and both rooms were very cluttered. They had same cabin steward in both rooms so gave him $50 extra for each room at the beginning of the cruise and thanked him in advance for the extra work. At the end we again gave him $50 extra for each room and both times he said it wasn't necessary but thanked us profusely -- he really earned it!!! All of these were inside cabins so the total cost was not bad and the 3rd person in the one cabin had a greatly reduced fare. We feel we would rather spend on these hardworking boys and girl than in the casino -- they deserve it!!
We also gave the waiter and asst. some extra as we always do but they didn't have any special work with this teenage group -- their table was next to the adults.
My major cost complaint is the photographers -- $16 and $20 is just ridiculous. We buy one copy of each and have copies made at home. Also many times, not always, the photographers are too pushy and slow down lines when disembarking at ports. Sorry to go on about this -- just my thoughts.
