The information we have regarding our sept 08 Pacific Dawn cruise says we are leaving from Warf 8 but just reading here it says the maiden voyage is leaving from the overseas passenger terminal. Just wondering if tha will continue or is it only because of the hoopla for the maiden voyae and the sun being in as well

The reason she is leaving from the OPT on it's maiden voyage is because the Sun is in the same day & will be at wharf 8. Most other departures will be from wharf 8, Darling Harbour.

Hello there,

After the maiden voyage the Dawn will mostly leave from Wharf 8. Probably the two reasons she is departing her maiden voyage from OPT are the ones you mentioned, the "christening " the night before, on the 8th November and the Sun leaving on the same day.

Wharf 8 is her home, it is only international boats that leave from OPT if they cannot fit under the bridge and or the Pacific Dawn is at Wharf 8.

I havent left from the OPT since my last cruise on the Fairstar, it is a better vantage point, buy it is also great sailing under the harbour bridge too!!

Thanks for that ladies. I just messaged my husband to tell him the maiden voyage is leaving from OPT which is great cause the kids will get to see her better. We were thinkingabout heading over to the heads to see her leave the harbour.
