Hi all,

I'm booked on the Dawn on 18th January and was just wondering about the best time for a return flight to Brisbane? We're due to arrive at 7am on the 25th so would a flight out of Sydney at about 1pm be about right?

Thanks in advance...:)

Do they tell you on your cruise personaliser what time your expected arrival back in sydney? If it is early morning like 8 or 9am i would say that 1pm would be a lot of time. I am going on cruise if feb, and i am arriving at 12:10pm for a cruise that leaves at 3pm and leaving on a plane at 2:15pm.

isnt that cutting it a bit fine sarah.
do you get to brisbane at 12.10 for your cruise that leaves at 3pm. That would make me too panicky.
if p and o booked it for you i am guessing you will fine though

When our cruise arrived in sydney in early september we were late disembarking and some passengers did miss their 1pm flights. Our flight was at 3pm and we only had about 45 minutes spare. It actually depended on order of disembarking, passengers fill out disembarkation schedule early on in the cruise, just tell them you have an earlier flight and you should be one of the first groups off.
cheers,
Michele:)

hmmm, now I'm a bit worried because I booked my flight today. I was expecting that if we arrive in at 7am then we would definitely be off the ship by 11am, giving me plenty of time to get to the airport.

I can't remember what was on the disembarkation form on my last 2 cruises (mainly because I was disembarking in Brisbane and I live about 2 minutes from Portside) but can you put an earlier flight time on your form?? Does anybody check up on the information?

If you arrive by 7am you will be off by 11am, especially as you have a flight booked. Last year, we docked at 9.15 and we got off at 12.30 and we are locals so were pretty much the last ones off.
Not sure if they check the info or not but I have heard stories that people say they have a flight booked when they don't just so they can get off earlier.

I phoned P&O this morning and they said that they recommend that no flights are booked before 12 noon. So, I'm hoping 1pm will be fine. The official P&O story is that they get the people off the ship first who booked their flights with P&O then the "left overs" are disembarked from the top deck to the bottom deck...and with the price I paid for a cabin I'm expecting to be on the bottom deck............:D
