I know this sounds crazy, but I'm not the kind of man who spreads stupid rumors. I have read in the news about a fatal virus that has killed a couple of people on Holland America cruises in the Caribbean. What's really horrifying about it is that after people die from this virus, they will actually continue to move around and even make noises, like they're still alive. The story calls it a "zombie" virus, I assume to make it sound scary. Has anyone else heard about this? Anyone talked to Holland America about it?

You're right; it does sound crazy. Where in the news did you read about it? I'd like to follow it up myself, as I am a news anchor and have not run across it. Was it in a specific newspaper, or a network news program?

Most of them can be found wearing formal clothing on formal night :D We've all heard from several around here about how such traditions are for the dead ... or, in the very least, for those who are about to assume room temperature. And, in the Caribbean in the summer room temperature can easily be 98.6 ;)

On Friday nights, I used to read headlines from the "Weekly World News" as a wrap-up. Figured, hey, let's go out with a laugh; it's probably been a rough week and maybe there really are space aliens living three miles under the ice in Antartica.

You want to see zombies? Take the MetroNorth commuter train from NYC to Connecticut on a Friday afternoon and watch all the junior execs in the bar car drinking their brains out. The oldest pax on HAL are beyond all that and will dance you under the table anytime of the day or night.

Hey -- anchoring eight hours of Headline News in the early days ... now THERE is a zombie-producing virus.

No, this is no rumor. I've seen it myself. Once it strikes, the disembodied makes a bee line straight to the Lido, shoving everyone to the side along the way! It's truly a scary sight.:eek:

One of the scariest sights is when the male zombies are sitting in the good seats for the shows a hour before showtime,they usally have thier eyes closed mouthes open and a strange noise coming from either thier nose or mouth until the female shows up 5 minutes before showtime. TOM

Speaking of zombies... I'm not too good early in the morning. One cruise, I was in the dining room (or, as it's spelled on the message boards, "dinning room") for breakfast and the waiter handed me the menu card. I was trying to focus thru the fog when the waiter said, "It is easier this way, sir," and turned it right-side-up.

Also, don't get in the way of the zombie traffic flow on the promenade deck when the PA alerts everyone to the next round of "Snowball Jacketpot Bingo!" The zombies -- especially those that used to be female -- will shove you over every time trying to beat the slower zombies to the show lounge. :D
