So i originally booked my airfares to get in the day of the cruise. I have no changed it and am coming down 2 days early (the thursday - arriving 8am)

My question is, whats a good cheap (VERY CHEAP) Hotel near the port... also we wanted to go to draculars on the gold coast on one of those days. Whats the best way to get there and how much is that. Would you recommend we go to draculars the thurs night and stay in the gold coast then move to the brisbane hotel for the friday night??

Any helps appreciated.

I would recommend staying in Brisbane the night before so that your early and well rested for the cruise. I havent been to Draculas so I cant help you but it is near Jupiters Casino. I have friends who have said that they loved it there. As for cheap places to stay there are a few around in Hamilton near all the parking stations I think Formula8 or something (dont quote me as I could be wrong Formula1? lol) I am from the southside so maybe some of the northside people can help you but I am sure the internet have some deals etc. Always last minute cheapies thats for sure. All the best with your plans

Sarah, I'd suggest going to the Gold Coast on Thursday and staying down there if you want to go to Dracula's (click here) (http://www.draculas.com.au/). Dracula's is a great night out, well worth the money.

There are plenty of motels along Kingsford Smith Drive in Ascot/Hamilton, do an accomodation search one one of the discount accomodation websites and you should find one of them

Sarah, as Kym said Dracs is a great night out, we go there every time we are in Surfers:) (tourist, I know) if you are looking for somewhere cheap to stay, in the heart of Surfers, we have stayed at the Islander Resort heaps, 3 star, clean, convenient and cheap!! if there are four of you, get a suite, it sleeps four!! taxi to Dracs is about $10,

Have fun!!

I agree with the comments about Draculas. I fun night out.

I think the closest motel to Portside is called the Kingsford Smith - it's quite an "upmarket" motel. The Hacienda is also near buy - it's been there forever and I assume would be pretty cheap.

I hope that helps...
