As far as calm water, beautiful sand beach, lovely view and facilities....as well as distance from the Port.

What do you think?

Boatyard beachclub is located on Carlisle Bay
they are pretty much one and the same.

You may access this two-mile-long beach at many points along its length
- some free some not free.

Go thru Boatyard and you're paying a lil something for their facilities,
but it's your choice how and where you go.

go to
http://www.fortunecity.com/campus/newton/568/brm.gif
where you'll find a big detailed map of the island.

Down in the SW corner of the island, you'll see Carlisle Bay,
and just to its upper left there's AT&T printed
(right over the Harbour where your ship will dock)

This map(above URL) is good enough to spend some time poring over
up and down the coasts,
where you'll see the many bays and locations
that get referred to in these posts of ours.

we just returned from boatyard- it was great- and it is on carlisle bay as has been mentioned.
I was hesitant about $15 charge- however you get chair- pina colada and ride back to cruise for that price. We paid a local $20 to take us out to a shipwreck to snorkle- amazing. There are jet skis right there as well

A quick telephone call confirms that indeed it is U.S.$15 per person

and that includes a chair, a drink, use of showers,
and of their ocean trampoline and climbing thingy,
as well as a ride back to the Port.

THAT's hard to beat!

I'm confused - who do you pay the $15 to? The Boatyard people?

Are the chairs the reguar beach chairs? In other words they are not those goffy chairs that sit on the bottom where we old folks are disadvantaged in removing ourselves therefrom.

In other words they are not those goffy chairs that sit on the bottom
where we old folks are disadvantaged in removing ourselves therefrom. can't answer your question directly
but this photo of Boatyard's beach chairs and umbrellas
was taken Oct.23rd. - about 10 days ago.
It's not a great shot for your purposes,
but it's all I have,sorry.

Hope it'll help you
