We sail August 16 on Insignia. My husband has moderate COPD (breathing problems) and uses an oxygen concentrator and a bi-pap machine at night. We booked the handicapped stateroom because it is beside the medical suite and because it is a little larger (the machinery takes up space). Has anyone traveled in this stateroom? Does it have extra electrical outlets for machines?
On another note, does the ship have any wheelchairs available? I read thier statement tha:) t you must bring all equipment you need. My husband doesn't need a wheelchair except in airports. It occurred to me that getting from the ship to local transportation could be a long walk for him and a wheel chair might help if they have one.
Will we need to make reservations for dinner every night or can we just walk in when we are ready ? Many thanks for your help. Joyce

You read correct.. if you need something like a wheelchair bring your own. They do have but they are for the medical centers use only.
You don't need to make reservations in the Grand dining room ,which is the main dining room and the "buffet" type restaurants- only in the specialty restaurants.

Thanks, I thought as much. They were not very helpfull about the oxygen. However, we managed to find what we needed. I'll share that with anyone who needs to know. Joyce

Hello, I would like some comments on the wheelchair accessibility on the Regatta. My wife and I will be on the 2/20/05 Petite Ports cruise and would really like to hear from anyone who can tell us about getting around the ship in a wheelchair. We have become quite good at overcoming minor obstacles and navagation difficulties on other ships. I am sure that everything will be great on the Regatta but would like a little 'heads up' from people that have been there.

Thanks for any info,
