I'm curious to find out more about this resort. If somebody could help me out I'd really appreciate it......
1. Do they 'allow' cruise ship passengers to visit their resort and use their facilities?
2. What sort of prices would we be looking at if we were to have lunch there?
3. Do you have to book ahead of time or can you just turn up?
4. How far is it from where you dock to the resort? I.e., 10/15 minutes?
5. How much would it cost in a taxi to get there?
Thanks to anybody that can help with this!!

Hi Liz,
I been to Isle of Pines, but not to Le Meridian so can't really comment, but I doubt you'll find a taxi. The area where they drop the ship passengers off is really small and kinda primitave. There will be mini vans and utes etc, so you might be able to get one of the locals to give you a ride there for the right price, but I didn't notice any taxis. Sorry i'm not more help.
Have a look at THIS LINK (http://www.newcaledoniatourism-south.com/brochures/index.cfm) for more info on the New Caledonia / Isle of Pines region. You can order maps from the site which might give you a better idea of the general location?

Lizcruising, I would suggest you email or call the resort direct....this way you will get an accurate quote for meal prices etc and also ask them if they have a courtesy bus to pick up guests - then let them know when you will be arriving and tell them you will be landing at the Kuto Bay Pontoon...I would say they would have a bus, cause they would have to pick up guests from the small airport on the island...
This link (http://www.starwoodhotels.com/lemeridien/property/overview/index.html?propertyID=1841) takes you to their website... I'd say it will be very expensive to dine there, but in saying that, sometimes we dont care when we are holidays..hey... as long as the food and atmosphere is beautiful...:)
Good luck... Cheers! Iesha
