View Full Version : I booked the Private Oasis on HMC

Well, since it was available, I decided to do it!!! I booked the Private Oasis this afternoon... I am hoping we get enough people from our Roll Call (we need 12) to share otherwise DH is probably going to strangle me, lol!!!
I have a couple of questions - I did a search and found the thread with Sir David's pictures. I noticed from the thread there is a restroom at this cabana. Does anyone know if the cabana is H/C accessible? Also, what about the massages? I couldn't find where they are included, so do you have to book them separately at additional cost?
Any help will be greatly appreciated as I am keeping my fingers crossed that some of my fellow 12/2 Westerdam cruisers will join us on this one! :)
THANKS!!!!

That will be great. We are two weeks behind you on the Westerdam. Wish you were going our week as we would love to do something like this.
Have fun!

Thanks KK! And nates, I wish you were on our sailing too!
It really does look quite nice from SirDavid's pictures back in March...

I talked to DH and we're going to go with it, even if we can't 10 other people to join us ahead of time, we want to try it. We always meet people who aren't from CC onboard too - and I'm confident we have a great group!
At $99 per person, I know it it isn't for everyone - and that's okay. :) We usually have a pretty big bar tab at HMC  and I also like the idea of being "close" to things, yet our group being able to have our own space... :)
It should also come with priority tender service too. I'm going to call HAL again tomorrow and see if I can find out a bit more.

If you are able to get 10 other people to join you, $99 per person is a great deal!!
We would join you in a flash.

There are still Suites available... :D We'd love to have you! Oops, I just saw that you are "previously" engaged on the Ryndam!

Sounds great, Laura.
Too bad Maasdam and Westerdam aren't together at HMC. We would have loved to join you. How neat that would have been!
I know I checked cruisecal to see if we were sharing the island and found we are. I forget now which ship but I think it is Zuiderdam.
Enjoy the Oasis. We'll be eager to hear all about it when you and we get home.

Sail, looks like you are there with the Zuiderdam.... it would have been awesome if we could have managed it. :)
I'll be sure to take tons of photos and post them - I'm greatful we have SirDavids from March, they are all we can find...

I could be mistaken but I think CrystalLady will be on Volendam with her
'duck group' within the next two weeks. She has booked the Oasis for their use. Hopefully, if I am correct about the timing, she may post some comments when she returns....which will be before you leave. She normally posts a review on 'another BB'. Hopefully she'll bring it here, as well.

Yes, she is - same cruise as Greg & me along w/ many of the "usual suspects". ;)
And I'm jealous too...
...because I wanted to book the Oasis Cabana.

Hey!
We also have it booked! Can't wait! There are 11 of us signed up so far. I booked and, talking through our roll call, rounded up more people. We have elected to take the upgrade which will bring it to approx. $135 each. We are all strangers - and all so excited! We are at HMC the day after we sail, so it's a great way to break the ice with fellow CC'ers!
(And I have heard that it's wheelchair accessible):D

Leah,
Thanks for the info on being H/C accessible. :) What does the upgrade include?

Surely you'll 'stop by' and say hello. You know she'd be delighted to meet you all. She's a lovely lady.
I would have loved if Maasdam was sharing the island with all of you.
Disappointing. So close to sharing with Laura or sharing with you all but missed by days. :( Let's just hope we all get picture perfect days to enjoy on that beautiful beach.

Thank you for your inquiry. We apologize for the delay in responding. We have been researching your question. The Grand Cabana on Half Moon Cay is wheelchair accessible. The main challenge is the tender boat that will get you to Half Moon Cay as the lift is not working. There are some steps to navigate on the tender boat to get onshore. If your wheelchair or scooter does not exceed 100 lbs than we can assist with carrying it onshore for your use on the island and to the Grand Cabana. Please discuss with the Front Desk once onboard the ship. We are also trying to get some pictures of the tender boat for you and will forward those along if we get some.
Feel free to contact us with any additional questions or to discuss this subject further.
Thank you,

What is in the upgrade package? I was going to look on HAL's website, but don't know my booking number off the top of my head...

ekerr19 - I'm sure you'll get plenty of sharers - there seem to be a lot of fun couples on the Roll Call. We're on the 12/2 cruise too, but are senior "singles" (actually I'm married but traveling with a friend), and might not fit in well with the party. She doesn't drink and I'm on a strict diet, but if you are short of people - post here as I don't always get to the Roll Call regularly.

Just talked to Beth, my cruise buddy, and she says okay to the Oasis - really good for her because she can't tolerate much sun. So add us to your list. We'll probably drop the $40 lunch and lounge at the Grand Turk Inn instead, since we're only there until 2 p.m.

Great news!!! Thanks so much - I have a feeling it's going to be spectacular. :)
Did you have a chance to look over the menu? I think it is the standard HAL BBQ with a few extras, but seems to have a bit of everything.
