Does anyone know the age limits on the Zaandam to Alaska for lounges and drinking age? On our last cruise (Carnival) you had to be 18yrs old for the lounges and they carded the kids their - and although it said 21 for drinks - the two 17year old girls were served cocktails all over the ship, from the captains party to lounging at the pool. I did not aprove, but they ordered drinks just because they could , no one asked for I.d. , and they never overdid it- in fact i don't think they really drank them they just walked around with them because it made them look older and cool until grandma caught them with them and ended their fun. My grandaughter will be with me solo this time and she is a very responsible teen so would like to know if she is at least allowed into the lounges at 18 yrs of age. I am not a prude and have let her taste a cocktail from time to time at home so I hope she won't be too bored going with grandma by herself this time.

:)

We have seen many children of all ages sitting in the lounges WITH their parents.

Your granddaughter will be welcome in all of the lounges. She may be asked for ID at the bars, but I doubt it. She may or may not be allowed in the casino.

are there any activities for young people of this age group? We are planning on next Aug. on the Amsterdam and I am hoping my teens will have fun.

You have to be 18 to be in the Northern Lights at night, and you're supposed to be 21 to have drinks but on the last night a bunch of 15 year olds showed up with bottles and were very drunk. My 18 year old brother got several drinks also.
