Can anyone tell me what the best time would be to schedule a flight home from an Alaskan cruise next summer?
Does it go quicker if you're a Canadian citizen?
Thanks for the help! ;)

For me, as a US citizen, it took close to 2 hrs. once I got to the airport. As a Canadian, wouldn't you still be re-entering the country from a foreign port?

We finally got to our boarding area about 12:00p, but by the far the biggest part of the time was spent waiting in a huge line to get our luggage in the International (East?) terminal at YVR. (It came by truck in batches.) The next biggest part of the time was waiting for a HAL bus at Canada Place, so I would think if you took a taxi you might make a plane as early as 10:30a. Assuming the ship is on time and there aren't any problems, of course.

I would not book a flight out of Vancouver before 1 PM.

If at all possible just spend one night in Vancouver. It is a great city with some wonderful places to have a good dinner. One of the nice resturants at Grandville Island would be a good experience. Then fly out the next day with plenty of relaxing time before your flight. From our hotel in downtown Vancouver it took about 35 minutes, we checked in early and then waited about an hour & a half for our flight to Denver.

Absolutely right - if you book one for before lunchtime, you're asking for trouble. There's lots of construction going on between Canada Place and the airport, and traffic congestion can be quite bad during peak hours.
