Has anyone used a driver in Marseilles they can recommend? I left this to the last minute. What were the typical costs? Thanks for any help.

I can't remember what they charged since it was in May..I think it was 8 hours for 350EU. Infact I believe they gave us an free hour so it was 9 hours for that price. They used a van and we had 6 people. We were picked up at dock Marseille, went to Aix en Provence, St. Paul de Vence etc. It was a great day.
They have tours set up to pick from at their website. Have a great time.

Reading through this board, for most Mediterranean ports, it seems that if you pre-book some well known executive car company with knowledgeable drivers for your private tour, it will cost you some 450 euros per day for up to four people. However, from our experience in April, if you are willing to take your chances and bargain with taxi drivers (with nice air conditioned cars or minivans) who come to the pier, you can get away with 300 euros for four people, and most will accept 230 euros for just two people (taxi drivers are pragmatic you know). In such a case, you save money, but the driver may or may not speak good English, and likely will not be a professional tour guide. Nonetheless, what you pay will be close to what the cruise line charges you for bus tours, and instead of following a set schedule, you have total freedom, privacy and convenience! Thank you.
