I wonder how the Noordam is fairing heading down south going through Noel?

I have been wondering about this as well. I was hoping someone would report in from the ship, but so far this hasn't happened. There seemed to be an awful lot of cloud cover in this area on the satellite photos over the past couple of days.

We hit it coming home on the Maasdam on Tuesday to FLL. It wasn't too bad; I've been in worse. Mostly rain, clouds, and some rocking, but like I said, I've rocked much more than that. We were late docking. Two hours. But the weather on Tuesday was sunny and windy.

I haven't seen the radar in a couple of days.

Bonnie,

I think Noel is supposed to be around me this weekend. At least that's what they were saying on the news.. We are supposed to have some wind and maybe rain here on Long Island. There is also a coastal flood warning out as well.

There is a person who has posted a couple of times today live from RCCL's Explorer of the Seas on the way back to NYC and she says it's gotten pretty rough the farther north they are going. Their ship is definitely rocking and a rolling. Hopefully the Noordam is encountering better seas going south.

I just had an e-mail from a friend on Noordam and they are doing very well. Captain Materboer has been able to sail wide of it and they are not having a very rough time of it at all. They have had to cancel the stop at Tortola but will be cruising directly to St. Maarten.

Sounds to me like everything is going great aboard and everyone is happy.

I posted on another thread that Noel is headed to Massachusetts. Cape Cod and outer islands will be hit with 30-60 mph winds and 5" rain. In our area, we are expected 3-5" rain and slightly lower winds. It is supposed to be here tomorrow morning and afternoon and move off by evening.

We're expecting that we'll get hit harder over on Nantucket than we will here in Hingham. We'll see....

Stay safe, Sheila. Hope all goes well for you at both locations. I heard Nantucket can expect gusts up to 85 mph.

Bonnie..... Happy I was able to help.

Hope you are all safe in New England. We're supposed to have strong winds here tomorrow too.

Sheila, I love your new avatar. Is that your Inn?

Yes, Carol, it is. I'm concerned about the weather here this weekend...DH is going to head back over to the island. First year w/o a caretaker (we had to let ours go, and didn't replace him). Not good.

Thank you, Sail. I hope we'll be OK. I'm more worried about there than here!

I've been in New Jersey visiting with grandkids all day and didn't hear about the weather in MA.

Sail and Sheila, how did you make out? I hope everything was OK.
