Only at night. During the day they can't. I still seem to keep my drapes closed even so. This is my favorite deck as it is so easy to get outside.

I really enjoy the Lower Promenade. No one can see into any of the cabins during the day - the windows are sort of "one way mirrors" - you can see out. After dark, it is difficult for someone to see in, but its possible, so its best to pull the drapes.

Last time on Maasdam had a cat C on lower pom. Definitely was able to see inside during daytime, more enhanced with an interior light. Be sure to check your cabin. That's likely not true for all, but I know it was for ours. Maybe age is having its way with the coating.

It's a shame to keep the drapes closed during the day, but you still have the largest balcony afloat!:p

Day or night it was very difficult to see into our DD on the Statendam. At night the deck lights are quite bright, so someone would really have to be right up against the glass to see anything. The steward pulls the drapes while you are at dinner, so it's not something you have remember to do.

We had an outside lower promenade room for one cruise and loved it. The only way people can look into your room in the daytime is to press up against your window. Most people are just out for their daily walk and barely glance at the rooms anyway. I enjoyed having my morning coffee and watching the parade go by.

We had our first prom' deck cabin in Sept on Volendam.
The only way pax can see in is if they press their face up against the glass and really stare (I can not imagine anyone doing that!!). As others have said when lights are on at night it is easier to see in but just keep the drapes closed as you would normally do at home.

These are great cabins and we have a DD booked on the Ryndam for our Mexico cruise in April.;)

I've had HH cabins on the Zaandam and Volendam. On one of them, a man actually did get right up to the window - shaded his eyes - put his nose on the glass - and apparently said to someone with him "nope, can't see anything". I've tried the same thing during the day (making sure it was MY window) and couldn't see anything either.
