To answer the question about the EXPRESS LUGGAGE SERVICE that is offered, here is exactly how it worked from SAN DIEGO PORT. We just returned from a 10 night Mexican Riviera cruise. About the second day at sea, we received a form to be completed for the EXPRESS LUGGAGE SERVICE . Your flight home MUST BE SCHEDULED AFTER 11:30 AM to qualify. Our flight departed at 11:32 AM, We completed the form and returned it to the front desk. On the last day at sea we received our flight boarding passes along with two baggage tags and a disembarking number. We atached the the tages to our luggage and placed them outside our stateroom door about 11:00PM. Upon disembarking the next AM, we did not have to claim any baggage , and went right out the door after handing in our custom declaration sheet to a coustom officer, got a taxi and went to the airport for our flight home. Upon arriving in Philadelphia, we received all our luggage at the baggae claim area. IT WAS WONDERFUL !!!

Thanks for sharing your personal experience.

I think the earliest flight times vary by port. Given the close proxcimity of the SD port to the airport may be why the time is earlier than some other ports/airports.

I just want to remind everyone, that this service requires a separate payment to the forwarding company, while onboard. It is NOT included in your Ship to Airport transfer. Every week people show up at the airport in San Diego without their luggage, and have to go BACK TO THE SHIP to claim bags.

It is a great service IF everyone follows all of the instructions carefully and remembers HAL doesn't make all the rules, TSA makes most of them!

Very good points by all !!! The cost of the Express Luggage Service ONLY was $15 per person and includes two (2) bags per person.
