From the archives of the Library of Congress here is where our favorite line berthed in the NY area in 1905: Hoboken!

Hoboken isn't the butt of jokes anymore. The former industrial town is on the comeback trail, evolving into a destination spot and booming with potential.

Uhem, Hoboken's comeback was in the 80's and 90's. When I moved there in 1986 it was already a happening place. A book published in 1987 describes it well: "Yuppies invade my house at dinnertime". (I moved to Brooklyn in 1994.)

I believe the old shipping terminals are now all gone.
