We are sailing on the world cruiseand I was wondering if it was worth taking good used clothing to give to children in some of the poorer countrys, If anyone has done this we would love to have any suggestions. Less than 6weeks to go . Happy sailing . Graham

I would suggest you contact HAL ship services and see what they say. Taking goods into another country in more than "normal" quantities could be looked on by authorities as smuggling. Believe it or not. Captain Albert alluded to that with regard to the items they donate (mattresses, school supplies, and such) in these countries. Everything has to be on a manifest.

Very cool idea, and very sweet.

But yeah, I would check like JHannah said.

Lots of charities around home if you can't do what you're planning, but how cool to see someone on a world cruise not just worried about do they have enough different dresses for the formal nights :)

Have you tried contacting any local charities? We have a Women's Center in Houston who are always delighted to receive women's and girl's clothing.
