If you're going to be in the Baltic region next August first, you should be able to see a partial solar eclipse. The totality will be in a narrow band from Greenland across northern Russia and China. But those on a Norwegian Fjords cruise would have the best seat for seeing this. For more info, click here (http://sunearth.gsfc.nasa.gov/eclipse/solar.html) for NASA's solar eclipse page.

-dam. And the inaugural voyage of the E-dam will be a few weeks too soon. :(
When was the original date for the inaugural? Would that have synchronized with the eclipse?

I haven't seen any date for the inaugural other than July 5th. Was their an earlier one?

I thought about you all when I saw an ad for an eclipse trip advertised. I checked the NASA site and found the date and visibility information. Too bad you'll "just miss it."

It was later. It was before I decided to join some others, so I didn't pay too much attention to it, but I do recall that it was the same itinerary as the 7/5 inaugural.
So, later and in the Norwegian Fjords means it was possible the original inaugural date would have provided the opportunity.

No big deal---I'm happy with what is, but it would have been nice, too.
