I'm thinking about poor Ziggy! She was so excited about their very first cruise and was particularly excited when they extended it a week. I'm thinking the first leg was western Caribbean so Hurricane Charley has to have an effect on them. Anyone hear anything about their ship? Where did it go? Do we know?

Depending on where you live you may not have heard about Bonnie and Charley, but they are sure shaking things up a bit around here:eek: !!!

:)

I thought about her this morning when I read one of the other threads.

Didn't someone post Under one of the "weather" reports that the Zuiderdam skipped Grand Cayman today?

:)

It's possible they substituted another port? But unlikely, I'm afraid.

Most important is I hope everyone is safe from Bonnie and Charlie. The rest becomes less important as long as no one is hurt....

I thought about her too...and although I'd love to hear what happened this week, by the time she returns from her B to B I'll be on my way down to FLL...maybe I should run around FLL airport or the gangway yelling "Ziggy, where are you?" Think I'd get arrested??:D

And yes, the Z apparently skipped GC today :( , but this happens this time of year, why else do would the prices be so ridiculously low?:p

From the models created by the National Hurricane Center, it looks like the two storms will pretty well follow each other right up the Atlantic coast. Sail, you might be in for lots of liquid sunshine through the weekend.

Can't wait for Ziggy to get back and tell us about her cruise on the possibly very high seas.....guess I will have to log in for the Internet Centre onboard though as I am boarding as she is getting off. :)

If they're anywhere near Jamaica, they are getting tossed around a bit. I'm hoping Ziggy comes back with lots of fun stories. As Marie said, if the 2nd week is great, than this week will be forgotten. Either that, or she'll come back and say .... "what storm???:) ". I know the Captains are pretty good at getting everyone out of harm's way.

Selfishly, looks like our wonderful drivetrip North, planned for months now, to see our grandchildren may have to be cancelled. We were to leave Friday morning, but we could well be shuttering up and battening down the hatches. Bonnie and Charley are going to evidently hammer the whole east coast over the next several days, certainly not ideal weather for a drive. This is not a fun part of Florida living:(

Hope the Atlantic keeps quiet for Ziggy's 2nd week!!!

Heather, we bought a condo in Naples last year because it NEVER get's hit with the hurricanes:D Yeah, right! I don't think Charlie will bother you in West Palm, except for some rain, but we will probably get a LOT of rain over in our direction. I'm in Ohio now, but keeping an eye on the weather reports.

Jerry and Wilda, I'll let you know!!! Right now they're saying it very likely it actually will come right over us. But either way it sure doesn't look very good for Naples!!!

Jerry and Wilda,
As a fellow Buckeye, I know that lovebirds are not exactly the feathered friends that put Hinckley, OH on the map. However, I'll bet lovebirds is more descriptive of the two of you :) Hope your FL property escapes serious damage. Don't you just love (not) this wonderful OH August weather?

Actually, we are just a couple of Hinckley old buzzards.:D Wilda thinks she is more closely related to the Egrets we see around Naples. Still keeping an eye on the weather down there.

So, I guess we can assume that Ziggy has zagged!

I hope that the good captain of her ship has been able to find calm seas and open ports.

I'm sure the officers on board are keeping good track of the storm's progress and doing all they can to avoid the "Rough Stuff".....I for one knows how it feels to get tossed out of your rack in the middle of the night because the ship just rolled 40 Degrees to Starboard and walking "on the bulkheads" during the day. However, that ship was only 550 feet long and 54 feet wide and no stablizers.

She and her DH are having a great time. Zuiderdam remained one step ahead of the storm and was very organized and on top of things. We met her the first week, a bit dissapointing, we could not locate anyone else from CC.

She found Ms. Zuiderdam and was presented a bag of goodies, vow renewal on Half moon Cay, and gets closer to winning at BINGO every game!
Wonderful lady, we are so glad yo have cruised with her!

Sorry I missed you Tyler. I looked for you both but could never connect. I thought our cruise was wonderful. A little disappointed in not doing the Caymans but they recovered nicely. Couldn't have asked for more perfect weather. Hope you had fun!
