We are leaving on the 10-day Southern Wayfarer on the Maasdam on Sunday. The ship is set to depart at 5pm. What time is a good time to go check-in/board the ship? I don't want to get there too early and wait around, but definitely not too late and miss out on ship, pre-departure.

Thanks!

We left Marco Island on the morning of embarkation, and drove across Alligator Alley, returned the rental car, and took a bus to the pier. We got there around lunch time, spent a brief few moments in line, and were soon on the ship. The weather was bad, cloudy and extremely stormy. But that made the life boat drill not as hot. We had plenty of time to explore the ship when we got on. Our cabin was ready. Our luggage was delivered and I had it unpacked and all set by dinner.

Sure wish I had another day like that planned for the very near future. Like January. But it's not happening yet...

we are on the Maasdam as I type .. our departure on the 29 Nov was 5pm as well .. we arrived at pier at 11:25 and had no problem boarding .. very well done and efficient ... IF ... you have preregistered on line as we did. The rooms arent ready till about 1:30, but the Lido is open for yummy lunch.

We cruised on the Maasdam last month and arrived at the port around 11:30 AM, dropped our luggage with a porter, parked the car in the garage across the street and were on board before noon.

When I sailed on the Maasdam earlier this year, I arrived around 1:30 p.m.
Normally I arrive around 11:30 a.m. or so, but this time I wanted to avoid the rush.
It took less than 20 minutes from the time I step out of the hotel van to get process and on board the ship.
Another thing that I like was you could go to your rooms when I boarded. I went to my room, dropped off my carry on and went to check out the ship.
I had no problem getting my thermal spa package or anything else.
On my next cruise, I'm arriving after 1 p.m.
