I enjoy a hot shower with enough water pressure to almost take a layer of skin off. What can I expect on the ''O"?

In our suite on the Westerdam (O's sister ship), the showerheads in both the tub and the standalone shower had adjustable showerheads that could be "tuned" either to deliver a softer flow over a wider area, or a massage-type jet with a narrower radius. Plus, they are detachable so you can use them hand-held or stationery, and the height is adjustable. If you really want that "scrubber" effect and don't mind holding the showerhead and moving it around, I think you can get what you want. But I don't know if they have those showerheads in the non-suite rooms.

I believe those shower heads are in ALL cabins. Now I will say at any time of day you will get very HOT water. But as far as thewater pressure it is hit or miss for each cabin. Let me explain, the water pressure coming out of the tub itself is always extremely strong but for some reason ( I am guessing build up of some sort) when you flip it over to the shower you lose half the pressure. But this does not happen in all cabins. We were in a cabin on the Noordam in June and it was amazingly great, on our return in September (different cabin) it was fair not terrible just not super strong. When we were on the Oosterdam in February 2006 in our favorite cabin 5187 it was the same as it had been in October 2005 and it was rather week but when we return to our same cabin in March this past year. It was fantastic, it was like someone finally fixed it. Who knows possible they have those things in the shower head the "Helps Save's Water"?

OK sorry to rattle on but to sum it up, yes very HOT, hard pressure of the water..... toss a coin:D

If you really want high pressure, you may want to request one of the shower heads they have in the crew cabins. These are of the watersaving type, but because the amount of water is restricted, the pressure is enormous (for the physics majors here: Bernouille effect if I recall): you could almost cut steel with it! ;)

Surely, nobody is going to swap out plumbing fixtures to suit a passenger...
...IMO, that's just ridiculousness.

Nobody would complain to the front desk about what type of showerhead is in a hotel - or concern themselves with it when booking a hotel room anywhere.
Why anyone would do so on a cruise is beyond me.

The adjustable Grohe showerhead fixtures in all HAL staterooms are perfectly fine - and I daresay much better than most folks have in their own homes.

I'm quite sure we wouldn't as they won't fit in pax bathrooms anyway, I was just joking.

I heard of requests to modify stuff in cabins though, up to the point of people demanding we put in a different carpet because they did not like the color!
