Does the Noordam on their 10 night cruise from NY. have Horse races & an aucton to purchase a horse?

I haven't seen any horseracing on any HAL ship in years. :( Pity, too, as I used to enjoy it. Lost a few bucks on more than a few nags, too! :D

For me, the last time I saw horse races was on a cruise in 1998.

I don't think HAL has horseracing.
Princess used to have it, but they discontinued it right after my last Princess cruise in 2005. The story the cruise director gave us was that there was some sort of a dispute with the company that runs the casino. Apparently they are supposed to have "dominion" over all onboard gambling and they were not getting their "cut" from the horseracing. So, until the dispute could be ironed out, Princess was discontinuing that onboard activity. As far as I know, though, they have never reinstated it.
Don't know if casino involvement is the real reason ... but that's what I was told anyway.

No Horses Allowed on HAL...
...one has to go on Cunard for that.

Zuiderdam marshalling area (where all the luggage and stores come in) used to look like a stable with all the straw for the horses on half moon cay...
