tropical depression #4-2004 hurricane season in high gear

Oh oh, here's info from weather.com:

"In the central and eastern Atlantic, two tropical disturbances have potential for development as the 2004 hurricane season moves into high gear. In fact, the one just to the south-southeast of the Cape Verde Islands has become Tropical Depression Four and will head west to west-northwest across the open Atlantic, slowly but steadily increasing"

Well, darn! We were warned it would be an active season this year. Even with a latish start, it looks like that might be the case.

Because I both live on the east coast of the US, and love the Caribbean SO MUCH, I keep my eyes on the tropical depressions. I hear that #5 is already registering some concern . . . and we're not even done with Charly yet!

Very active hurricane season so far, and its only August!!!!!

Looks like charley will hit the north east this Sunday.

We have been so busy reading here that we hadn't heard about a 4th depression developing off the African coast.

Yes, you are right, lots of rain and wind they are predicting, time will tell. I work for the electric company, we should be pretty busy on Sunday!!!!!!!!!

Doone - did you ever think of a last minute cruise? Or is it too late to get a plane to Florida? So many have been cancelled in our area to Florida.

Will all that extra time mean extra $$$ to book another cruise?

I have never thought of a last minute cruise to be honest with you, seems like I have too many loose ends to tie up before hand. BUT, with the extra time at work, you betcha, more $$ to cruise. I need it, doing back to back cruises, 7 days on the Zuiderdam and then 10 on the Volendam, AND I CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
