Once a year?
Twice a year?
Every few years?
More than twice a year.

We've been cruising 3 or 4 times a year, but we plan to cut back as pricing climbs.
We are doing two land vactions in Mexico this summer to fill the gaps.
High price of fuel, high airline ticket prices, and the weak dollar are starting to compound the problem.
Enjoy!

until we have kids, and then until they're old enough to appreciate a boat, DW and I will continue to cruise 2-4 times a year.

We've been twice a year. This year was just once. Next year will be twice.

Normally twice a year but our last cruise in October has soured us towards the direction that the mass market cruise lines seem to be heading.
In the winter we have cruised Regent which is expensive and all inclusive but still offers us what we want in a cruise. We felt like we got what we paid for..
No extras , great food and service, something that seems to be missing on the mass market cruise lines..

My personal best is three times in a calendar year, but it was also four times in a ten-month period. Not bad. Not bad at all! :D
These were shorter cruises, though, than I've been used to doing when I took only one cruise a year.
Next year has another personal best scheduled with a total of forty days in two cruises. :D
Retired is nice. ;)

Typically once a year for 2-3 weeks.

We tend to cruise a total of 14 - 21 days per year. This year only 14, next year will be at least 28 as I will finally have five weeks paid vacation in March!!!! :D

No kiddies so that makes it easier. Three times a year; a 10-dayer in Spring (or February), a 10-14 dayer in Summer (usually late) and the 7-day New Year's cruise

In 2007, we cruised 49 days (6 cruises including 2 sets of back-to-backs). In 2008, we have 37 days booked, so far. That is five cruises including two sets of back-to-backs......Eurodam's three day Intro cruise and her ten day Maiden voyage and then back-to-backs on Maasdam in August.
It varies by year but DH is not retired so we can only be away about 16-17 days max at a time.

We take three cruises a year. One really long cruise 21 days or better and two medium cruises 10 or 15 days.
Since we started cruising in 2002 we have averaged 61 days per year.

I average between 2 and 3 cruises a year.
This year I did 3 cruises (Noordam, Ryndam, Volendam)
Last year I did 3 cruises (Oosterdam, Noordam, Zaandam)
The year before I did 3 cruises (Oosterdam, Westerdam, Westerdam)
The year before that I did only 1 cruise (on the Zaandam) but it was 21 days.
My personal best will be next year ... 43 days in two cruises. Unless, of course, one considers next year's Inaugurals of the Eurodam as more than one cruise. If one counts that as more than one cruise, then I'll have 4 cruises next year (Rotterdam - Jan 27, Eurodam - July 2, Eurodam - July 5, Eurodam - July 15)

I guess we average two to three cruises a year. One year we did 49 days, but that is not the norm. In fact 21 of those days were free due to pod problems on Infinity. This year we have only two cruises scheduled.

As long as our health holds out, we try to cruise a couple of times a year.

We've been averaging three a year -- we do a 10/11 night cruise in late October/early November and again in late February/early March, and then a 7 night to Bermuda in the summer. A few years ago we were lucky enough to cruise four times in one year -- we got an incredible deal on a Bermuda cruise in September that we simply could not pass up!
We feel so blessed to be able to cruise three times a year; however pricing may send us back to land based vacations in place of one cruise...:(

Cruising is only one of our vacation preferences. We expect to average one a year, so that was my poll answer. 2008 will be anomalous with 3 (on 3 different lines). We enjoy cruising very much, but we also enjoy spending an extended amount of time in one space to explore it in depth, so we are combining our cruises with land vacations, per Kryos scenario on the other (overnight) poll.
Cheers

Those cruising more than once a year are extremely fortunate. I'm sure you know that. I used to think my ideal would be to cruise twice a year, but I now realize even once a year is too much.
There are so many other wonderful ways to see the world that we will reserve cruising for when all we really want to do is see the sea:) . And we love to do that so there are a lot of cruises in our future, I'm sure.

It varries so I didn't vote. We can go several years without cruising, we can go several years with 1 cruise per year. One 15-day cruise in 2006, none this year. In 2008 we do have 2 cruises booked for 43 total days and in 2009 we have one cruise for 36 days. DH still has a number of years to go before retirement and he doesn't get that much vacation, so these cruises will involve time off without pay.

So far every few years. I'm working on upping it to at least once a year. . .:p

Depends on the length of the cruise. In 2008, I'll be cruising twice, but one of those cruises is a four-day Carnival theme cruise. The other is the Prisendam, a 24-day voyage.
If I take primarily short cruises, then I may cruise more. If I take a really long cruise (like my 2009 planned Grand Voyage), that will be the only cruise I will take. In fact, after that 2009 voyage, I may not be able to afford to cruise at all in 2010.
Blue skies ...

Since I retired a couple of years ago, I've been taking 3 - 4 cruises a year, several of them quite long. I'm fortunately that I have the means and opportunity to do so.
