Hi!
My sister & co are going on a Dizzy cruise 8/28 from Canaveral - which ship is this? I know they are doing a stingray ex (assuming Grand Cayman exists after Bonnie & Charley !) -- where else does it stop?

Is there a way to send a "surprise" to the family while they are onboard (I know I can do this on RC - never been on Diz.

thanks!

They will be on the Disney Magic.
You can send them a souvenier gift on-board through DCL. Their called magical traasures and can be ordered through WWW.disneycruise.com (http://www.disneycruise.com).
There's also a lady near Port Canaveral who makes great baskets and she has permission to leave them in staterooms. She's at www.theperfectgift.cc (http://www.theperfectgift.cc). I've heard good things about her work.

If you want to spend that much, you can buy a shore excursion for them if you know their schedule and tastes well enough. The shore excursions are listed on the disneycruise.com web site.

You must be a great sister and aunt to do something like this for them.

is it possible to mail/UPS something to the ship before it leaves?

does Diz offer a special drinks card (alcholic for parents) or coupons?

You could just purchase Disney Dollars and give them to your Sister et al.
Disney Dollars are available at the Disney store in the mall or on line at Disneystore.com. These can be used anywhere Disney just like regular cash and have some fun art work as well. My kids have been saving Disney dollars since Christmas for our upcoming trip.

The only problem with Disney Dollars is that the ship is a cash-free environment. They only allow you to sign purchases to your stateroom account. The only place that you can use Disney Dollars is to pay for your account at the end of the cruise and that takes some of the fun out of it.
Upon further consideration, if you give her Disney Dollars before the cruise, it's like giving cash except it comes with the implied message "You MUST use these to go out and have some fun" as opposed to cash which might end up paying the gas bill, the property taxes or something else equally not-fun.

You can call ahead and pay money on the shipboard account to have as a credit when they board. There use to be a soda program, but they now offer soda free. There is no alcoholic drink program. I don't believe you can mail anything to the ship prior to, but Shirley at the Perfect Gift can get anything you want and put it onboard prior to arrival. She seems to be very good.
