Well here's the latest....due to strong easterly winds since leaving Nuka Hiva we're not due in to LA until Friday, Dec. 21st @ 3:00pm. They're putting the guests who have flights up at the LA Hilton hotel (dinner, breakfast incl) Friday night and telling everyone to reschedule their flights no earlier than 8:00pm Friday night!!
We're not affected much since we live in So.Cal but I know many passengers had flights around 2:15pm or so on Friday. These will all have to be rescheduled for either Friday night or Saturday. This will not be easy to do the weekend before Christmas!!!
Of course this will affect all the new passengers boarding on Friday too.

Thanks for the news. We are joining the ship on Friday, so please keep us updated on this.

Just spoke to Regent. Boarding will be delayed until 5 PM with departure around 10 PM.Unfortunately, we will be reaching the port at about 2 so will have to hang around San Pedro for a few hours. Could be worse. Could be sitting in a snow bound airport as the ship sails away!

Our travel agent just called and indicated our boarding time was moved from 2PM to 7PM. We expect further details will follow. Bummer!

No further updates......
As it turns out we should have skipped Nuka Hiva all together. It poured rain and the stop was a total waste of time.

Anymore updates on Mariner's arrival into San Pedro today? Will the itinerary for the X-Mas cruise be altered at all?

On the previous leg, Sydney to Auckland, the ship had electrical problems twice. The first time in Tasmania with a 5 hour delay on the departure and the second time on the way to Napier were we drifted or sailed at 5 knots for 12 hours until the power generation problem was fixed. We by pass Napier and were given a credit.
I would like to know if there were any more problems on the last leg and if you were late arriving in LA due to wind or because the ship was not at full speed.

We were originally scheduled to arrive in San Pedro @ 9:30 yesterday but instead arrived at 2pm. Disembarkation was a breeze for us as we carried our own luggage off and had a driver pick us up for the 30 minute trip home.
As I mentioned, RSSC put those who had trouble rearranging flights up at the LAX Hilton for the night (incl. dinner and breakfast). From what I understand, any increase in flight fares or change fees $$ will be reimbursed via future cruise credits.
In spite of the "not the best weather" for most of our cruise, it was a fantastic cruise. It was bright and sunny yesterday as we cruised into the San Pedro harbor....best day we'd had in quite a few days!
Those who boarded yesterday were boarding around 5pm.

petlover, thanks for the neat wrap up of this thread.
Any information on whether the future cruise credits were extended to those passengers who did not make their travel arrangements with RSSC? Am just curious, even though any credit would not expected or deserved.
Welcome back.
