Does anyone have any experience with the Suite Amenities package offered on the onboard gifts? Good or bad would be great. Also, if you think it's worth the extra $$$. Thank you

You got me on this one. We always book Delux Verandah Suites and I have never heard of a Suites Amenities Package.

KK, there are 2 new amenities pkgs- one for Deluxe Suites and one for non-Dlx Suites. They are listed on the onboard gift list. How about taking a look and giving an opinion as to what you think. A poster asked about them, but so far no one has answered who has purchased one and used it. Cost is based on length of cruise. The poster who asked had purchased one, but not gone on his cruise yet. Would like to hear what you think.

I was just over there and couldn't and didn't see them.

One for suites and one for DELUX suites.

Prices are variable, dependent upon ship and cruise length.

Form says it was last updated 10/2. I do not know if this was an update at that time. It seems to be a well kept secret.

I just spoke to ship services. If you are booked in an s cat suite you choose the elite package. The cost was around 750 for our 11 day cruise. If you would use all the items listed, there is a small discount as opposed to buying the items seperately. The liquor is two bottles of hard liquor and two bottles of wine. Also 1 dinner for two in Pinnacle. There are other things also included, I have to add them up to see how much of a discount it is.

You can email HAL and get a price too. I was quoted for our 7 day cruise on the Oostedam $549 for the two of us and that they would like to have this booked more than 1 or 2 weeks out from embarkation. We are in the process of thinking about it for our April cruise.

Appreciate the info. It's a matter of doing the arithmetic. If purchased individually, how much do the things you'll use total? Some parts of the elite package don't interest us while others do. I doubt it will be worth it for us but I have to add up the separate items that we'd use.

For the Suite Elite Package (for those in S or SA/SB/SC-class deluxe suites) it doesn't seem worth it unless you really want every one of the listed amenities.

However, for the Suite Amenities package, for those in ???-category non-deluxe suites (it doesn't appear to be crystal clear who is eligible) there is at least one listed amenity that it doesn't seem you can get without this package: special VIP debarkation procedures (and lounge). People wondered on the earlier thread what exactly that privilege consisted of. Would love to hear from someone who has found out from HAL.

I was just looking over the Elite Package.

It wouldn't be worth it for us. I don't drink coffee and DH loves the coffee machine in the Neptune Lounge.

Neither of us would use the Hydro Pool and Thermal Suite.

Neither of us would be interested in the cooking class.

We already get flowers in the suite.

Truffles - they need to be DARK CHOCOLATE (don't like milk chocolate).

What I don't understand is why anyone would need a lounge if HAL lets you stay in your cabin until called? Does anyone think this may be ending and HAL may be asking folks to get out of their cabins earlier? Being able to get a full breakfast the day of disembarkation as well as the liberal policy of being able to stay in your cabin until called is a big "plus" that sets HAL apart.

Btw, this may be helpful in the Carribean but at least in the Med (Civitevecchia) we walked off late (8:30-9:00) and there was no line, and sat and watched off our balcony folks leaving at 7:00am and it did not look crowded at all. So, why the lounge?

I agree, KK, the package does not mean much to us either.

We love the coffee machine in Neptune and if we want a few coffees at Exploration, we buy the few we might want.

I don't need any additional chocolates. :D What we get in Neptune is more than enough for us to have a little during our cruises.

We don't care about the Hydro and Thermal. Never go there and don't plan to.

The only way the package can be a value of someone in a Deluxe Veranda Suite is if they would be using the Hydro Pool and Thermal Suite anyway. Without that, the package would not be a value IMO

This is the reply I got from HAL for a 10 day caribbean on the Noordam. I did reference that I was in a SC suite. They do not specify which package this pricing is for however.

The suite amenities package on your cruise on the ms Noordam will cost
$399.00 total for two guests or $299.00 for a single guest. You can
purchase the passes for the thermal suite and hydro therapy pool on
board as well as in advance through this package. Thank you and have a
great day!

I just got an answer back today from HAL for the cost for my upcoming Oosterdam 7 day cruise to the Mex. Riv. I was told it would cost $549 for two people for the week. I am also doing the B2B after this cruise that is a 4-day repo to Vancouver and was told that the Suite Elite Pkg was not available for that second cruise. I felt it was a bit steep for something that we would not be using all of it. So we will probably be passing on it.

The Suite Elite Package is available to ONLY those guests booked in a SA, SB or SC category there is yet another seperate package for guests staying in an SZ, SY or SS on the Vista class ships but that package is a Suite Amenities Pakage. This package includes Complimentary Laundry and Pressing, Monogramed HAL bathrobes, Coffee Cards, Pinnacle Grill, Beverage Set Up, Fresh Flowers and a few other items. Not sure what the cost would be for this. But for someone like Tom and I that already owns the HAL bathrobes then it is sort of a waste and you probably would not get your monies worth. Hmmmmm  I wonder if you could exchange that for 1 pass to the Thermal Suite for the week. Also I had thought someone told me this was only available on the Vista Class ships but it does not state this so maybe on the other class ships you can do it for a Verandah category. It states it is for ALL Suites excluding the Deluxe Verandah Suites.

Yes I know, but someone posted that they were going on a cruise in I think December and had been sold the package even though they were in a VA. We all thought it was a mistake but they had paid for it. I wanted to find out what happened when they boarded. I would need to find the thread and person in order to see if they ever do a follow-up.

I thought maybe someone could find the thread since I can't and don't recall what ship they were on.

Thank you for your inquiry! The suite amenities package on your cruise is $399.00 total for two guests. The Well Being package is $558.00 total for two guests.

We are booked in an SZ suite, so not a Deluxe.

Per Ships Services:

Suite Amenities Package has prices for single or double occupancy. If double occupancy, you get two monogrammed bathrobes ..

(I'm like Laffnvegas, having a monogrammed HAL robe already ... and it's great ... so what a terrific Christmas present this is gonna be for the daughter-in-law.....lol....)

Until I stumbled on this thread I didn't know about suite packages since I've only sailed HAL once so far and was in a VB cabin. And although I've tried to read carefully I admit to some confusion - or perhaps senility.

Anyway, here's our deal. We are in 5001 on the Zuiderdam next January. It's a handicap accessible SY suite all the way forward which I actually chose over a midship suite, but that's a different matter.

My question: Which package can we buy if we should choose to do so? And what is the cost?

Thanks for helping me with my confusion/senility.

Hello Scotland, here is a link to HAL's onboard gift form (https://book.hollandamerica.com/pdfs/onboard/Gift_Order_Polar.pdf)describing the "Suite Amenities Package" for which you would be eligible in an SY cabin (see page two of the form, right hand side, under "Signature Packages"). The cost varies depending on cruise, and you can contact ship's services to get that information (800-541-1576).

We purchased the suite amenities package on our 14 day trip on the Noordam in December. The Suite amenities package was new then so we were expecting some problems as with all new things. We were in a VA cabin. The suite amenities package offers SOME of the things folk get in a suite but it is available to all - for a price. Most of the itewms were in our cabin when we arrived- voucher for free laundry/pressing, bathrobes, Pinnacle Grill vouchers, coffee cards etc. Flowers took 3 days to get to us but we weren't complaining. The choice of alcohol for the room was 2 bottles of wine and 2 bottles of spirits. After several days of promises eventually the wine steward came with the list, as it was a little way into the cruise he offered us a refund of the alcohol which amounted to $110. The total package originally cost us $549 for 2 for 14 days. The priority disembarkation meant that we could leave our luggage outside in the morning - not usually available to passengers who are not in a suite. This took a couple of visits to the front desk and phone calls on the morning of disembarkation but it as this was such a new package it was only to be expected.
Was it worth it?
Yes for those who would usually purchase some of the items anyway. Not worth it imo if you are already in a suite as you already get some of these items so why pay twice.

I think the packages are both quite interesting but would like to see them take it a step forward. If you frequent HAL then most likely you have already purchased a HAL robe, some people do not use everything. Now it is my understanding that you can mix and match a few items.

Forrestwalkers glad to hear you were able to purchase this package in a VA. It was my understanding it was only for the SZ.SY and SS. Currently we are in a B category for the Amsterdam and had thought about buying it but would like to exchange the robes for 1 pass to the Thermal Suite for the week and would also be will to give up the Priority Debarkation. To me this is nothing special since one get's to wait in their stateroom anyway:confused: and we have always placed out luggage outside our cabin at night and not used the early morning one. for suite passengers. But since we plan to go to the Pinnacle, and I would mostly use the coffee card and if we could get the Thermal Suite for the weeks it might just work. The big thing is swapping the robes for the Thermal Suite. Hmmmmm might have to work on this.;)

I agree there seems to be different information out there but I do know that the Elite Package is ONLY good if you are in a S Suite meaning SC, SB or SA. I personally would rather have that package than the other even if I am in a Vernadah or SY or SS.

We recently had the Elite package on the Oosterdam and like Forrestwalkers we too had lots of problems getting the liquor set up. We never did know exactly what we were to have. Finally we just ended up with two very nice bottles of Champagne and am guessing we came out OK but we too were already 3 days into a 7 day cruise. Of our package we also got the Premium Wine Tasting, it was nice to try but would never do it again. The Daily Turndown Truffles were basically the same chocolate candies every night which were OK but we hardly ate them because that late at night I just do not eat chocolate. We nibbled on a few for the week but I started wrapping them up in the plastic wrap and we ended up taking some home.
I would say the best items at least for me was getting the Thermal Suite for the week and going to the Pinnacle and the liquor package if one knows about it and can choses the very first day.

After reading some of your comments here, I do not understand why I was quoted $549 for 2 for only a 7 day cruise to the MR for the Suite Elite Pkg. We have booked an SC(5186-sister to your suite Lisa,5187) on the Oosterdam on April 19th. So I am confused why they would only charge $549 for a 14 dy cruise for 2 to Forestwalkers....

Pam, I think I can answer the question. The Elite package is actually valued a lot more than what Forrestwalkers had. The robes are valued at about $100 and not sure what the laundry package is but it is not extremely high. The other items are very small in value. The coffee card, liquor set up and the Pinnacle Grill are the same. In your package you are getting Thermal Suite for 2 which is $250 for 2 people, the Prem Wine Tasting which I think is $35 PP and the Cooking Class which I do not remember what that cost is because we did not do. So the actual value of items do cost more.

Hi Forestwalkers, I was looking all over the boards for your post as I could not remember your Cyber name, and was wondering if this was a mistake since you were in a VA and what would happen once you boarded.

Btw, I was just on the Celebrity Century and they have a Verandah and then the CC (Conceriage Class). The CC Verandah is the same size as the regular Verandahs but comes with the amenities which includes flowers (including a single rose in the bathroom), fruit (not available in all class cabins like HAL), Champagne (it was a real bottle of Champagne), Canapes delivered every afternoon (they were horrible so we had a cheese platter sent the rest of the week), priority embarkation, debarkation (lounge w some food) and tender..., menu of pillows (I never saw it but asked for a feather pillow, Tote bag (nicer than the one on HAL but the reg one on HAL is nicer than the one they give to everybody on Celebrity), Leather Key Card holder, stationary with your name and special invitations (we never got any), better towels and robes and supposedly speciial bath amenities but they weren't Elemis and smelled the same as in my DD inside. Since the CC was $20.00 ($10.00 more per person) that's what we booked. I wonder if HAL is trying the same thing?

Great that you were in a VA and paid $439.00 (without the alcohol) for 14 days for the laundry, Robes, Pinnacle Grille, coffee (we don't drink coffee), canapes, and Flowers. Was there supposed to be priority tender? You can pay separate for everthing with the exception of the Canapes (but I could call each day and ask for a cheese platter), Flowers and priority embarkation, disembarkation and tender (if included). But, how do they know about priority anything if your key card does not indicate a suite?

Thank you. I really hadn't thought about adding everything up, but that does make sense. With the items in the the "Elite" pkg costing so much more, it stands to reason that it would be more the the pkg offered to non-suite passengers. Still don't think that we'll "spring" for it since DH does not care for the Thermal pkg or drink anything other than plain coffee and a glass of wine with dinner.
Thanks so much for the explanation....:)

With this package the ONLY Priority you get is Debarkation and the Debarkation Lounge, There is no priority Embarkation or Tendering. The Priority Debarkation is just allowing those that purchased this package to try the Neptune Lounge the very last morning. I think the thought in this is after getting the extras for the week that S Suite passengers normally get, then seeing the Neptune Lounge the last morning you may just book a S Suite on your next cruise.;) From my experience in having had the S Suite frequently the Neptune Lounge is rarely used on the final morning so that is a good time to allow those that purchased the package to come in and try it. I think they most likely have you on the list and that they just let you in.

What is the cost of the thermal suite for 2 persons?
The cost for a weeks pass in the Thermal Suite on the Vista Class ships is $150 for one person or $250 for 2

What exactly is it? Is it like a Sauna? Is it one big area, or private areas?

Does anyone know if the Suite Elite amenities are already included with the PS suites as it doesn't seem to be available for them. I am booked in a PS on the Eurodam in January and what to make it as special as possible for our honeymoon. Thanks!!!

Are you sure you can't purchase a package for your honeymoon PH suite? Have you called ship services at 1-800-541-1576? They should be able to tell you. Good luck and best wishes!

It is not included for "PS".
You must purchase it if you want to have those amenities.

You do need to purchase this for the PS. Call your TA or Ships' Services for details.

I called HAL and rep had to put me on hold and check to see if it was available with the PS as it wasn't showing as on option on her computer, but in the end it is available as everyone had informed me (thank you). The cost for my 7 day in Jan on Eurodam would be $549. Is it worth it?...I'm not sure?!

That appears to be a good price as I'm being $659 for my upcoming 7-day on Volendam...

All the amenities in the Suite Elite package really should be included in the cost of the PS.

The problem there is the hydrotherapy pool - there are only a limited number of "tickets" sold and if two (or more) are reserved for the PS, and those people never use it, then someone else could be out of luck (and HAL could be out some money!).

And since the PS gets their own hot tub... ;)

I agree...it should be included with the PS...as well as a cabana at HMC! Oh, well...shell out the dough or live without!

We have no interest in the hydrotherapy pool so would not purchase the package. We are always in an "S (and have been in "PS") but for us, some of what they include in the packages mean nothing. You have to add up the facets of it you like and will use and the value of it to determine if it is worth it for you.

When I did that simple addition, we came up way short of the total price so.....not worth it.

We pay (and sometimes receive as gift) Pinnacle; we buy (and sometimes receive as gift) wine; we already own robes etc etc
Personally, I don't agree cabana should be included in either "PS" or "S" price. Though we pay considerably more for those cabins, we get considerably more. The cabana is literally called an 'excursion' and should and is purchased as just that. I don't have a problem with them charging for cabana to everyone.

Yah, Dave. I guess that's a given. No Caribbean cruise = no Half Moon Cay. ;) Shame.... it's such a gorgeous slice of Paradise for some of us. :)
