After reading all the wonderful comments abut the aft verandas, I booked one on deck 5 for the Noordam. Now I'm wondering if there will be a lot of vibration that will disturb our sleep. If anyone has experience with these cabins, please reassure me that it will be OK..

Carol, I was in 5191 on the Noordam rt from Seattle to Alaska this past June. I slept like a log. I would sleep in 5191 again; in fact, I wish I were sleeping there tonight.....:D (Just get me on a "dam" ship!)
I'm posting this to reassure you that it will be OK. Have a lovely cruise.:)

I was last in a corner aft on the Alaska intinerary. The only time we felt vibration ( we were on deck4) was when we hauled ashes out of Vancouver, back to Seattle. The empty metal hangers in our closets had a great time sliding back and forth till I took them all down and told them to hush up, for the night.
Your experience may differ given the season and the seas.

We had an aft on the Noordam , cabin 4178. We slept great. There is a little more movement but nothing that bothered us

Very smooth, quiet ride in Vista-class afts, noticeably smoother than in comparable cabins on Celebrity's Millennium-class (we've been in both). You'll have no problems specific to these cabins.

Thanks for all the reassurances. We have an aft corner suite booked for March. I am looking forward to it but I understand the room size is smaller than a normal suite. We have 6166 on Noordam. Is the room that much smaller than a midship suite?

Carol -
I hope I didn't scare you. The vibrations were noticeable, but not annoying. A couple of times I had to move two bottles that were rattling together and on the last night, after the closets were empty, the hangers rattled a bit, but that was it. Those Dam beds are so Dam comfortable you will not have any trouble sleeping!

By the way, my VA aft cabin is up $300 pp from when I booked. So much for thinking you can get a last minute bargin.

Can't speak for 6166 on Noordam, but I can tell you that 4185 on Westerdam, an aft corner SC that is supposedly much smaller than the midship SAs and SBs, had PLENTY of room. See photos here:

The veranda on Noordam 6166 will, I think, be smaller than Westerdam 4185, but the cabin may be somewhat larger. I think you will find it ample. Enjoy!
PS: We had the hanger rattling problem too, but that's easily solved, and other than that we had no issues with noise and vibration even on deck 4. Just a subtle sense of motion that lulls you to sleep in that comfy bed - zzzzzzz ...

We have experienced this before on other ships, so after we unpack, I always take the extra hangers and intersperse them with ones with clothes on them. Problem solved. On the last night we just ignored the clatter...it really wasn't that bad and we did not lose any sleep. If it really bothers you, you can just take them out of the closet and lay them on the floor.

I noticed that last weekend, too, Carol. Today a VA is listed at $1,981.83. It was that price about a week ago, too.
Whatever happened to "last minute specials?" Not that I'm unhappy...glad we booked when we did.

Yes, Sheila. I'm glad too.

LOL...maybe I should have said "extra hangers (if any)"! The people who had our cabin before us must have had a ton of clothes and requested extra hangers because we had more on this cruise than I have ever seen.....far more than we needed and believe me, my DW does not travel light!;)

Dear O2B@c, thanks for the great photos. Cute baby!
You're most welcome. I mostly took them for the benefit of CC folks, so I'm glad to share them here.
Thanks for complimenting my grandson - isn't he adorable? Can't take any credit, as his mom is my stepdaughter, but the way I see it, that just leaves me more free to boast about how cute he is!:D

I was on 4176 Aft VA on Noordam this past May. There was slight vibration at times, but certainly not enough to impact my sleep. I greatly enjoyed this cabin and would book it again in a heartbeat. The verandah was at least 100 square feet.
