Does anyone know if the S guests can still eat breakfast and lunch in the Pinnacle on the Zuiderdam? Thanks. Have a wonderful weekend.

No, this has ended on all Hal ships and you have a nice weekend too.

Thank you. I thought this was the case but wasn't sure. We are planning a great weekend. The weather in Arkansas is the best we've had since 1906. (No, I dont' remember that) Temperature today is predicated to be 80 (its usually 100+) and the lows in the 50's. I think our weather is the result of Charlie. I hate to think of what the poor people in Fl are going thru and we've having such delightful weather.
When I first started reading here, I thought I was the only person in the world up at 4 in the morning. I can't believe so many people are up & on the computer at that time of day. IMHO its the best time of the day.

:)

Being able to eat breakfast and lunch in the Pinnacle, Queen's Room, or King's Room (depending on the ship) is something we are really going to miss. On our last cruise we were informed (in May) that it was being discontinued on all ships.

Sorry to say that the Pinnacle isn't being used for Suite passengers any more. It really caused problems on the Vista Class Ships as other passengers could see people eating there and wondered why the restaurant was not open to all guests. Same goes for Marco Polo on other ships.

Word has it that the menu in the Neptune Lounge will be expanded by early 2005. No official word on that, though.

FYI...The menu was always the same as the dining room for Pinnacle/King's Room breakfast and lunch. It was (usually) fabulous service and much quieter. The stewards got to know the Suite pax who came regularly the same as they get to know their dinner pax.

We only went a few times and will not particularly miss it but I am sorry for those who enjoyed it. We prefer room service. When breakfast/lunch for Suite guests was in Queen's/King's Room, it could be kept private and only those who knew to go there (Suite guests) even knew there was service in that room. Only speculation on my part but I believe it was discontinued for two reasons: not very many suite pax actually took advantage of the offer on a regular basis and if it is true there are fewer dining stewards, they are needed in Lido and the dining room. There may not be any to spare to serve the few who came to Suite breakfast/lunch.

Pinnacle menus are being changed within the VERY near future. Imminently.

:) jazzsea

That would be great if the menu in the Neptune Lounge were to be expanded.

Let us know if you hear any more.

And what other items they may offer.

We were told it is in the process of being changed NOW. Very shortly, we will be seeing a new Pinnacle Menu.

:)

I had read on another thread a while back about the Pinnacle menu being changed, and hope that we see it on the Statendam in October.

But the expanded menu for the Neptune that jazzsea talked about - hope that it is in place by cruise time.

I mis-read. I missed her reference to Neptune. I kept thinking she was referring to Pinnacle.

Hmmmm....that is interesting if they are expanding on Neptune choices. Seems hard to imagine a way they can do much more than they already do. (which I think is terrific). There isn't any way to offer hot food, I don't think.

On the Statendam to Hawaii in Feb. the Eastern European staff from the Pinnacle were "ATTEMPTING" to serve breakfast and it was a disaster -- could not compare with the usual Indonesian wait staff and not the wonderful smiling faces we had enjoyed so much the first thing in the morning. They did not understand even when we ordered 1/2 order of Eggs Benedict and many other common requests -- might as well just eat in the dining room or the Lido. Lunch was just about as bad so we gave up after a couple of disasters. We DID enjoy visiting with other suite guests in this atmosphere -- will miss that part but shall just visit more in the Neptune.

Curious....Do you actually "visit" in Neptune Lounge? We usually go in; greet and chat with the Concierge for a moment; assuming we have no special requests or needs to discuss with her, we take our cup of coffee or fruit or whatever and leave. In all our days aboard with all the Neptune Lounges, we have never been inclined to hang around per se.

We usually "hang" around the Neptune while our cabin is being made. That's when we play scrabble. Some of the Neptune Lounges have their own game. But we have a travel one just in case.

Sometimes we will stop by the afternoon for a snack and then even later for some vegies.
