Cruise Director Trevor proposes on the Noordam

We just returned home from a great Noordam 10 day N.Y.-Eastern Caribbean-N.Y. sailing. It was Dec. 12-22, 2007.

Trevor Millar, the CD, surprised his girlfriend, Becky, with a wedding proposal in front of the entire Vista Lounge audience. The Marriage Game had just ended. Trevor sang a beautiful Garth Brooks song, and brought Becky up to the stage. He gave her a ring, and it was a very special moment. Becky is one of the lead singers on the Noordam. Trevor's parents were in the audience. It was very moving for me to be a witness to such a beautiful thing.

The cruise was wonderful!!!

The new Mysteriaque dance act is beautiful. Guitarist Justin Miller is fabulous.

The Barbeque & Dutch Chocolate Extravaganza weren't handled well. It was too confusing, and people were grabbing food recklessly. I feel a rope should be used to direct flow of the line with an entrance & exit.

Just when you think you have experienced it all, such as the first women Hotel Manager with HAL (will be covered shortly on another thread), the following occurred on the Noordam's December 12th sailing.

Trevor Millar the very personable and well liked Cruise Director was finishing up a fun filled version of the Marriage Game on 12/16 when he said he had an important announcement. Trevor proceeded to call Rebbecca (Becky) Amy Allen on to the stage. Becky is the fantastic female lead singer in all the production shows. With Trevor's wonderful parents (Vera & Gordon) in the audience, Trevor said he received the blessing of Becky's Father and proceeded to go down one one knee and sang a heart filled version of a Garth Brooks song titled "T0 Make You My Love". Upon Completion of the song, Trevor proposed to Becky. As you can imagine the audience was quite taken and many were in tears. It also had a major impact on a couple in the audience. The following day, Trevor received a note from a gal who said her fiancee was so touched by what he witnessed, he bought a ring in St. Maartan that day and also gave her a proposal of marriage. Like Becky, she accepted.

While we are on the subject of Trevor, we would like to congratulate his activities staff. Glenn AkA D.J. Dutchie , Heather and Kyle who are all bubbly, friendly, polite and efficient. Glenn has the most experience and is a potential C.D. Although it was hard to tell, Heather and Kyle have recently started and have great potntial.

It never used to be this way - however, our last cruise we experienced the same thing - people grabbing food with their hands & jumping behind the tables where the servers are stationed.

That is nice that Trevor Millar proposed to Becky. We were on the Seattle, WA to NYC cruise in September/October of this year. Trevor was very open about his relationship with Becky. He told how he went to England and met her family and really loved her grandmother. In fact, during the Q&A session with the dancers and singers, someone asked Becky what she was going to do when her contract expired. She said she wanted to go home and start having a baby with Trevor. So it is nice to hear that they will be getting married.

I was on the Noordam in November and recall that one of the lead singers was blonde and the other was a brunette. Which one is Becky?

What I really recall of Trevor is that he seemed to be everywhere, all the time... busy man! I wish them all the best :)

Love was in bloom on the Veendam as well. Alex married his fiancee (who works at the main desk) in Key West (the wedding that was postponed on the Veendoom week); DJ Mike was connected to shopping specialist Stephanie, and two of the singers appeared to be engaged. Watching them dance in the Ocean's Bar on their night off was delightful to us old folks.

Thanks, and likewise. Seeing both of you get involved in the many activities on board was a lot of fun. We believe there was one other man beside your self that wore a kilt on formal night. That was cool.

I agree! Dr. Justin Miller alone is worth the price of the cruise. He entertained us on four different occassions. I could happily have listened to his stories and guitar every day!
