Cheryl, HAL's website is showing almost all cabin categories still available for the Feb 9-16 Oosterdam Mexican Riviera itinerary, aka the "Yum Yum Man Cruise". I'm sure Lisa LaffnVegas and her gang would be delighted to help you celebrate your special day!:) Go for it!

I would hardly call us Yummers fascinating, but we are indeed a fun, congenial group (and growing in numbers almost daily:D ).

The cruise of the Yum Yum Man worshippers leaves San Diego on February 9th for a one week cruise to the Mexican Riviera. If you go over to the Roll Call board you will find us there. I warn you though that there are well over 300 pages of posts to wade through:eek: .

The Yum Yum Man is the man in the red suit that rings the chimes for dinner and hands out the ginger and mints as you leave the dining room after dinner.

The roll call thread was started earlier this year and the group keeps growing. One goal of this cruise is to have the largest Banner Wave EVER at 3:00 on sail away day. We are a fun group of mixed ages and backgrounds who are looking forward to a relaxing vacation aboard the Oosterdam and enjoying the company of new friends. Honestly, most of us have never met in person and are looking forward to February 9th.

Hope you and others that might be interested will join us. It promises to be a fun week.

It's as Stacey described.....and I want to add that it isn't a charter or even a group cruise. A couple of regulars here decided to make this cruise a tribute to the Yum Yum man and it just grew from there and now we have over 50 people on our Roll Call. EVERYONE is welcome to join us!

As stated earlier, the YUMMERS are a group of CCers that should have lots of fun that week. We have some things planned to do together, while some are doing their own thing. Only a few of us have met before--but 300 pages of posts have shown we are a chatty group. We are definitely NOT a young, college-age group!!!!
Our banner wave should probably be a record.
FYI:There's also a Red Hatters group on board that week.

Sorry I can't spring for the air fare from New Zealand but I can, willingly, put you up any time pre-cruise or post-cruise. I have a very pretty guest room - oh heck I'll sleep in the guest room and you can have the (almost as pretty, but with a much more comfortable bed) en-suite master bedroom.

I'm going to be back in Oz next year for a couple of days when I will get to spend some quality time with my brother and sister-in-law and their friends. No immediate plans yet for New Zealand but I can't see myelf leaving this earthly plane without at least one more visit to your beautiful country - oh yeah, I definitely need to start planning that trip.

I know I'm going to be a little late, given the International Dateline and the time difference but what the heck: Happy Christmas and All best wishes for 2008.

Val I would love to spring for you air fare from NZ but with having just got off the Oosterdam and returning in about 6 weeks my old credit card is already screaming at me wanting to know how in the H*ll I am going to pay it off in full:D

Actually we are classified as a Group cruise in the eyes of HAL we are just not a sponsered CC Group cruise.

To my understanding there are still quite a few cabins available for this sailing and I would guess with almost 6 weeks the prices have got to be dropping for some good bargains for anyone that wants to join us.

Wow, if I can find a single inside cabin at a good rate, I think I'll go for it! I'd have to take some days off work at my school district, but I have one more paid personal day and three personal days I'd have to pay for (it's for a substitute, but I have a job where there IS not substitute since I'm the only person in my position - but don't get me started!)

Hmmm - a Valentine's/Birthday gift to me...

I wonder if I can investigate this on board next week.

As you may have noticed Ruth & I are very frequent cruisers.

If you go to the Oosterdam Roll Call and look up this cruise you will find a diverse group with a very good sense of humor and love to chaty. It is one of the largest Roll Call that we have been on.

The following are planned:
CABo: Parasailing, Whale watching, Lunch at a lobster house.

OTHER PORT: Massage and then lunch at a restaurant....

ON SHIP: Pagama party for the girls (until them men raid it). Several get togethers and a major party on the back deck as we have the whole 5th floor across the back and we plan to open it for a major party...

We have Red Dragon slippers for the Yum Yum man and it seems that everyone has gotten slippers for the cruise. I think Ruth and I started that one. See the pictures below.

It looks like one of our better cruises so far. If any question email us or log onto the Roll Call
