Hi all -
The NCL Bike, Hike & Kayak excursion seems fun. Has anyone done this one and have any feedback?

We are also looking at this excursion with NCL in early March - has anyone done this?

DH and I did the bike, hike excursion with NCL. Tendered over and got into an open air bus. We had an entertaining guide who was fun but got a little annoying by the end of the tour. The road trip getting up the mt is a long one so he would get people to sing songs to pass time. The trip up you got to see the land which is very green and lush. Yes, there is poverty but I have seen worse. No one bothered us. We finally reached our destination (30 mins later) and found our bikes. I know very little about bikes so to me they looked fine. No hand brakes, you had to back pedal to brake. One of the boys noticed my tire was flat and they pumped it up. They provided helmets which we had to wear and we started. The road is a dirt one with rocks and frequent pot holes that I carefully avoided. Our leader stayed behind. One woman had trouble with her bike so he stayed with her. We stopped a couple of times as one man's chain kept falling off. I am sure he was very annoyed. I am in good shape so I did make it but the activity would be considered strenuous. After around 3.7 KM, we got off our bikes and hiked a little to a cliff where they had a cenote. That was fun. There was a little family there selling coconut milk but we didn't have any small bills. We then drove another 30 minutes to Rincon Beach. There you could kayak but we had only 45 minutes and were starving. There were a couple of restaurants so we decided to eat. We barely got our food before we had to leave. Thank god we ate though. Another hour of driving back to port. Brutal drive. We sat in the back and felt every bump on the dirt road. My neck was hurting the next day. Try to sit close to the driver. Overall we had a great time and enjoyed this excursion. I would discourage anyone from going if you are not use to driving on rough terrain.

Thanks for the great review of this excursion. I was thinking about it, but it sounds like you spend more time riding than anything else. I think we'll pass. Thanks again!
