i'm new to HAL.... can anyone tell me the least expensive category to get a decent cabin with a verandah (is a verandah essentially the same as a balcony)?
is there any benefit to booking a "guarantee" on HAL?

We have done both "A" minisuites and "B" minisuites on the Volendam and have found them both to be to our liking. The verandahs, or balconies are small, but still a great place for breakfast, and general relaxing away from the crowd. We have also had a "guarantee " verandah, and since they are really all the same interior, just a different placement on the ship, this made no difference to us. My husband just wants a place to go outside! Happy Crusin'

Both A and B are exactly the same size. 1/2 the size of a suite. The only difference is location. A are in the center of the ship and B is fore and aft. Ruth and I generally stay in B level.
There is enough room on the balcony for a lounge chair, small table, and a regular chair. Just right for two people.
