Hi there, I'm having a mental block and have thrown away our detailed brochure:mad: In the cabins on board the Star, is the power outlet the same as NZ or do we need an adapter??? I'm feeling rather blonde at the moment, teen reckons we need an adapter (if so are they available on the Star?)and even though we were on it 18months ago I can't remember!!!

Hi Lelley. On the Star a couple of weeks ago. You do need an adaptor but our room stewards gave us one with no problems. have a great cruise.

It's a european power adaptor (I think because in her early days Pacific Star operated out of Italy).

You can purchase adaptors in Dick Smith or Tandy stores for about $10 each. Then just plug an aussie powerboard into the adaptor.

Although the stewards have some adaptors, they don't have enough for every room, so if you're hoping to get one from your steward, make sure you ask them early.

No, but as said above a power board is handy if you want to plug other stuff in:)

Whilst on the subject of power outlet compatability - what's the situation with power points on Dawn?

Cheers,

Roger (Starjet)

Normal aussie power points. But again, take a power board with you. We all have so many rechargeable things these days:)

No power adapter is needed for the Pacific Sun. We were on her in December. The comments about an adapter needed for the Star are correct. Ask your cabin steward when he/she introduces himself to you when you board and then you certainly won't miss out. The adapter is likely to be reclaimed about a day before the end of the cruise. I suppose that is to make sure you don't pack it in your luggege 'by mistake'.

Have a great time.

Yes, well I too live with a cruise brochure addict....

It's got to the point where I have to check the shopping bags if we're at a shopping centre where there's a travel agent, just to make sure someone hasn't picked up yet another brochure.... Can't let him out of my sight for a minute :p
